The people were nice and also the hotel but I give this place a 6/10 to be honest. The food was mostly terrible! The Grill had great breakfast but that’s as far as it goes. The Barbecue they had poolside was shockingly amazing compared to all the restaurants but we ate off site. I’m just sad that I paid so much for this hotel, for them to provide so little in food and entertainment. The drinks were pretty good but I’ve had better on cruise ships, which is my preferred type of vacation. Overall the best time I had in Playa del Carmen was on my excursion. Nice people but not a place id come back to again.

We booked this resort for its location right downtown Playa. The location was great, but what was even better was the extremely high level of service we received from the amazing staff. Every single staff member we met, from reception, security, pool and lobby bars was beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. This is obviously a place where the staff feels appreciated by the owners. Will 200% be back.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish! The property itself is stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and every corner exudes a sense of care and attention to detail. The service was truly world-class. Roberto at the lobby bar, Mateo in the restaurant, and Jhonny at the pool bar were exceptional, and every single team member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The staff’s warmth, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness transformed our stay into something truly special. The beach is breathtaking—pristine, serene, and perfect for relaxing or taking in the incredible views. Dining at the restaurants and the pool deck grill was a delight; every meal was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly presented. The arts and crafts team added a uniquely fun and memorable touch, allowing us to create our own souvenirs—what a wonderful way to take home a personal memento of our stay! The front desk team was always ready to help with anything we needed, and the greeting team set the perfect tone on arrival with cold towels and refreshing drinks—such a thoughtful and classy welcome. Every detail, from the gorgeous surroundings to the flawless service, made this an unforgettable experience. We left feeling completely spoiled and will absolutely be returning. The check in process was extremely smooth. Cold towels were a nice touch when we arrived. Process was quick and our room was upgraded. Suite was amazing. Spacious, very clean, and loaded with extras. The grounds were the best part of the resort. Very clean. The cushions in the Cabana beds need to be replaced as all of them have indents where ppl constantly sit in the same place. Pools could use a mid day cleaning as you can see the build up of suntan lotion and grease on top of the water. The bathroom shower stall in our room was not the cleanest. The mirrors in our room had dark spots all over them. They need to be replaced. All staff were lovely and attentive. The food was very bland with the exception of the meat that was grilled daily at lunchtime. Portions were also very small at dinner

My wife and I came to Devossion by Live Aqua for our honeymoon and it was an incredible experience for us. We stayed for 7 nights in late November 2025. We spent most of our time at the pool or beach. We were most concerned about not having a swim up bar but we sat in Gerardo or Miguel’s sections at the beach or pool every day and never spent more than 10min without a drink in our hand. Both those guys were incredible and super friendly. Never even had to leave the pool to get a drink either, they left it for us right on the edge of the pool. All the bartenders are very particular and we witnessed them put a drop of every drink on their hand to make sure every drink left the bar perfectly… they did. By the end of a few days we were just asking them to make things we’d like when we wanted to switch it up and they nailed it based on what we already ordered pretty much every time. Melanie and Adrian were awesome at keeping everyone engaged and informed of any activities and only time we felt we missed out was when we spent too much time at the beach(not their fault, obviously). Their manager, apologies because I am blanking on his name) was also awesome and the life of the party during all the champagne celebrations, which by the way, is an awesome touch and built a good social opportunity to anyone wanting to be more social. Our only area for improvement is the sound-proofing in our room.

The staff was super nice and helpful! Bartender Marco was so nice and made amazing drinks. Pool side food was amazing with great options and the staff was really nice. Food from the grill was really great. Steak was cooked perfectly with great side options with a ton of flavor. However, the barrier in the ocean is not pleasant to look at and ruins the view- adding rocks ontop would make it a bit more pleasing to the eye. There was a decent amount of floating trash in the ocean as you walk down the beach. There was seaweed with an odor but the resort did a great job of clearing this off but the smell did linger. Some parts of the property like pool tile and deck board by beach looks as if it needs to be repainted or updated. You can access town easily from this resort which is very nice to go to shops. We also loved the sports bar with games! This was fun to pop in grab a drink or snack and hangout!

Resort is very clean and beautiful. Staff was top notch - friendly and helpful! Food excellent but we would have loved an option for Mexican food for lunch and dinner (besides room service). They seem to be working on a few areas of the resort, so perhaps they are adding dining options. Beach is stunning, but is public so very busy on weekends. Our stay was mostly quiet with some occasional loud club music from the neighboring resorts. Overall a very nice vacation!
