We had an amazing time in Mexico. This location was very safe and loved that you could walk or rent a golf cart. The hotel was beautiful but needs some updating. The grounds were well maintained and the staff were always cleaning and very friendly. The front desk staff were OK. Sometimes very helpful and other times not helpful at all. The bell staff were the best around. Always there to help and very friendly, I want to give a big thank you to Carlos at the front staff. he was the best you have. He helped us with everything even if it was not his department. Now the food. I cannot recommend all of the food. Th best food and experience was the Mexican restaurant. Our server was the best and the food wonderful. The other restaurants were dull and bland. Nothing to recommend. The bar staff were very nice, just wished we could have seen faces as they were ll masked up. I might return to this hotel but might chooses another in the area. We did have a great time over all for the location and price.

We had a pleasant stay at the Catalonia Resort in July of 2021. Here are some things to consider .... PROS: The area of Puerto Adventuras feels very safe and the community feel is great. The resort is located in a gated community with a marina, shops, restaurants, etc which was great for walking/exploring. The food was good at the a la carte restaurants & not bad at the buffet, snack bars. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Most of the staff were friendly, kind, accommodating, and helpful. We did have 1 very rude employee at the Crepe place, but that was only 1 time in 8 days. The entertainment crew was great! They kept the pool entertained and then even had nightly things to do at night. They worked 8-11 daily and I appreciated their constant enthusiasm and hard work! CONS: There is NO coffee shop, so unless you're heading to breakfast OR willing to make it in your room, then no coffee or espresso beverages. The wifi is AWFUL. The TV had a total of 3 (MAX) stations in English, which has never happened to us at other resorts in the area. We stayed 8 nights but were only "allowed" 5 a la carte dinner reservations during our stay which felt unfair. The gym was only able to be accessed by making a reservations which felt inconvenient when you were not sure what your day may look like. I am not sure if this was because of COVID or not. Overall it was a good place to stay. I also want to mention that July is apparently seaweed month, so be aware!

Overall our stay was enjoyable. We arrived 3hrs before check in and they were able to get us in our room right away. The front desk staff and bell hop were very friendly and always around to help with anything we needed. Our room was pretty basic but had everything we needed, could tell that some of paint work had been done haphazardly. We were supposed to have a garden view room, but were pleasantly suprised by the pool and small ocean view from our balcony. The maids did a good job of cleaning our room and stocking us with lots of water. The pools were great and we spend much of our time at the pool swim up bars. Manuel was always on top of keeping our drinks filled and making us special shots. The only thing i did not like was the juice used for mixers, so we stuck to margaritas, or vodka soda with lime. The food was just ok. It was nice that they almost always had a place open to get food. The buffets, especially the open air ones had issues keeping the hot food hot, most of the time it was luke warm at best and sometimes even cold. For this reason, i liked using the made to order grill area they had. Also wish they had some hot sauce or spicy salsa because we are use to spicier food. The beach area was very small and we came during a time that a big seaweed bloom had hit, so we didnt spend much time here. The seaweed was not just a problem here, we also saw it when we spend the day in playa del carmen. Overall we were happy with our stay especially for the price.

I did not stay at the YucatN beach property, we were put in the Riviera Maya hotel. Hated the smoking all over the property, this should be indicated especially for people that are highly allergic, like myself. I coughed the entire stay. The property was nice, the staff not so friendly. Would not stay again.
