As far as what I didn’t like there is not much that I can think of other than clothes are hard to dry in high humidity. This was not the hotels issue . The property was super clean, staff was fantastic, and it was connected by a short bridge walkway to the train system. Super easy to navigate all over Kyoto. We received a 1000 yen voucher per person in our room which we used at the steakhouse on property. By far top 5 dinners I’ve had, ever…I would highly recommend Hotel Emion Kyoto to anyone thinking of traveling to Kyoto.

Clean rooms that looked quite new. Staff were lovely and there are many restaurants located within the building. The hotel is connected to a train station making for easy travel, with Kyoto Station being the next stop.

This was a great hotel as it was clean, good room size, breakfast was fantastic (lots of Japanese and Western options) and the hot baths is a bonus! The only downside was that we had to take the bus to get to most locations (which I learned after visiting Kyoto this is a common thing for everyone since the train system isn't as elaborate as it is in Tokyo so I still gave it 5 stars). Overall, for the price and value of the hotel we would stay here again!

Pros and cons

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. I liked having the black out curtains in the room. Location wasn’t great for us, there wasn’t much to walk to and food options were limited. Breakfast in the hotel was expensive. Also asked for extra water for our room and they said there’s a limit of one bottle per person per day. Elevator smelled of smoke.
