Pros: This a great place to vacation in an absolutely charming area. There are so many great restaurants and shopping areas within a few miles of the lodge. The rooms were nice. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The water park is awesome. There are 2 super cool arcades with great games. As well as a really nice gift shop. Cons:They did run out of rafts for the lazy river every day we were there. There are 2 restaurants on site, one that delivers right to your room (Tavern?), but the food was sub par, we did not enjoy it, and it was very expensive. We also ran into an issue where all of the staff were unnecessarily stingy/over-controlling of the bedding and towels. *My son used the room's sofabed and there was no bedding for it in the room. When I went to the desk to get some, they must have asked me 5 times if I was sure it wasn't in the dresser. I promised them each time they asked and they would give me this kind of side eyed, "are you sure??" Yes! I am not trying to steal a crusty hotel blanket and pillow! I actually saw them write down on a log that they gave it to me. Same thing with towels at the water park. Upon entry, you are handed 1 towel per person, and then you actually have to sign them back in when you return them with your room number and name. This lodge protects their bedding and towels like Fort Knox! It wasn't a huge deal, but it was a little weird.
Overall, we had a fantastic trip! We'll definitely be back.
