During our stay, we had to be moved to different rooms twice. The first move was due to water not working. The second time was because of construction dirt, noise and unsafe conditions. We were not allowed to use the stairs. The hotel promised a refund of one night and two nights of a discounted rate. Two months after the stay and we have still not received those credits. Very disappointing.

Hotel was really nice, of course older and rooms are smaller than in US hotels (but we didn't care as we don't spend much time in the rooms). Staff was helpful and friendly and this hotel is ideal if you are taking Eurostar train, it's 15 min walk. It is walkable everywhere, major London attraction -if you like walking instead of Tube, this hotel will be great for you.

This hotel is loud and busy; it's a lot like staying in the largest dorm on campus (for me that was in 1995). We had a standard double room so YMMV, but amenities were at a bare minimum, as was size & storage space. No hair dryer. Plumbing is old. So many younger travelers being loud all of the time. If you're looking for a bargain and a place just to put your stuff, it's fine. But if you want somewhere that's nice, go elsewhere.
