This may be the worst of the Fairmonts, but I will not take a chance with any other Fairmont property after this experience. My 3 nights to date have included the following:
A receptionist telling me my room was upgraded only to find out after unpacking and opening the window that the deluxe room with a sea view I ordered was upgraded to a second floor view of a condo owner eating dinner 20 yards from my window.
After repacking and relocating to the room I actually reserved and paid for, I called room service to learn an item on the menu was unavailable. I then arranged for some clothes to be cleaned the following day, being assured they would be returned to my room by 6PM the next day. When I returned after a business dinner the following evening, there was not only no clean clothes delivery, my room was not cleaned and there were no new towels. I requested towels & washcloths; did not receive washcloths. Was told they would be delivered later that evening.They were not. The following morning I went to the front desk asking for washcloths and was assured they would be sent up. An hour later, they had not arrived and I had to call housekeeping and wait an additional hour for them to arrive. An hour later I called down to retrieve my valeted car and no one answered the phone. My room package included 2 free drink tickets. I went to their bar and ordered a signature cocktail, only to learn they were out of that drink. Do not stay here if you have any expectation of competence.
