Dated property, not young kid friendly
Publié le 19 déc. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe stayed for a week with our 5 children. Property manager was super nice and quick to respond. The house photographs well, but in person it was dated, although we still really enjoyed our stay. There was breakable decor everywhere on the main level, so I had to rearrange quite a bit to be comfortable that there were no accidents. There were many features are not available to use, like the 3 fireplaces, or all of the plates/cups in the hutch, or half of the front door. My recommendation is to not display items that cannot be used. The neighborhood was nice and quiet! Overall the house was fine, once I got over the initial disappointment of the photos vs. reality. Would stay there again if the price were to go down, I don’t think it’s worth its value.

Hello Sandy - Thank you for staying with us. It is me, Rahel, the owner who received you. Whereas we value feedbacks greatly, we do not believe what you wrote is accurate or fair. We have served many groups and families with and without kids for almost 8 years now. As stated in our profile, the entire house and backyard as pictured are available for our guests, except the garage, which is used for storing house supplies, cleaning materials, etc. The house has large double doors. We leave one door latched rather than swinging around. But, you could have unlatched that door too if you wished, although that would have been totally unnecessary. We never had any complaint regarding this issue since we started business 8 years ago. As for decorative items in the house, you could have asked us to remove any items you did not want there. We are only minutes away and could have taken them to the garage or closet. The kitchen cabinets have plenty of kitchenware, probably more than any family would need. I am not sure what else you wanted. We always advise our guests to call or text us if they need anything specific, ahead of time if possible. A great majority of our guests do not need anything else. But for those few who do, we are normally there in minutes. Finally, we wish the price was lower too, except that the cost of maintaining such a property in the Bay Area is very high and we have to pay significant third party fees. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy response. I just want to set the record straight. Thank you for your business and best wishes. --Rahel

Beautiful, spacious house
Publié le 23 août 2022 sur HomeAwayMy family and friends stayed here for a week and we absolutely loved the house. The host came out to meet us and show us around and he was very friendly. The house is very clean, plenty of space for all of us (8 in total) and the pool and jacuzzi were great for kids. Location was convenient for shops restaurants and highways. Would definitely stay here again!

They are so thoughtful, kind and truly think of every detail to make you comfortable. They're always accessible and promptly reply to any questions we had. Comfortable and Cozy Home

It is conveniently located near stores and restaurants. Hot tub was awesome for the chilly afternoons. The host is very kind and met us in-person to give a tour of the property, and left a welcome basket for us with snacks, wine and cookies. Thank You! Rahel

Not Bad, but Not Great
Publié le 10 août 2021 sur HomeAwayThere were good and bad things about this property. The location is great for doing stuff in San Francisco and to the south. There is a center with stores and places to eat right down the road which was very convenient. The owners answered all our questions whenever we asked. The house was big and there was plenty of room for our party of 8 people. The whole reason we rented the house was for the pool. We were there the end of July and we had planned to hang at the house and swim in between our outings to see sights. But we didn't swim in the pool once because it was unheated and too cold. So that was a huge letdown. Also the showers are very bad. They have an electric water heater so it takes awhile for the water to heat up before you can use. The tiny water saving shower heads left a little more than a trickle to wash your hair. The house felt relatively clean. But lots of white carpet and rugs hiding previous stains. A little updating would go a long way in this house and a pool heater and better showers. We will probably find a different place to stay when we make it back to California next year.

Thank you for staying with us. We take feedback seriously. However, much of what Sarah said is simply inaccurate or unfair. First, as far as we know, her party enjoyed the pool like everybody else. We are not sure why she said she didn’t use it even once. Security cameras do not lie. Second, we did not advertise a heated pool. Like most house pools, our pool is not heated. She could have clarified that before booking as others do. Unfortunately, she didn’t. In our profile, we have asked guests to contact us for any questions, special needs, or requests before booking. This is to make sure that the house meets their needs. The water heater is not electric as she falsely stated. It is a new, high-efficiency gas water heater professionally installed just two months ago. Of course, like any house, you will have to wait a few seconds for hot water to flow. I am not sure you can do anything about it. All shower heads are standard and professionally installed. She could have contacted us if there was an issue, but she didn’t. We shampoo carpets regularly. In the six years we have been running this business, one thing our guests say repeatedly is how clean our house is. In any case, I do hope other property owners read this. We certainly do not wish to host anyone like Sarah who leaves trash in their wake. It is just not worth it. We changed our schedule to accommodate her last-minute request to check in early and this is what we got. Thanks. --Rahel

Clean & Cozy

Rahel (who we thought we would be meeting but unfortunately never did) was very nice to get us some roses & a gift basket before our arrival. We never got to thank her in person but her husband was there to receive it. Not a big deal or a problem, but it would have been nice to know that they are both hosting as I was surprised to hear a male answer the phone & door. He was courteous, just took us by surprise a bit. The kitchen has way more cookware than most rentals we’ve stayed in. Very comfy master bed. Some water in the fridge was nice. No salt though, but there was pepper. Hosts were very accommodating to requests & went out of their way to be helpful/thoughtful. We weren’t expecting a tour when we arrived but we got one. Guy was very nice but it was more thorough than we preferred because part of the fun for us when staying at rentals is looking through it & finding things ourselves but the host seemed to have good intentions. We were a bit disappointed that we couldn’t use the fireplaces as there was no tools/wood. There were only 3 face towels (relatively minor inconvenience , more of a note to the hosts) so we definitely needed to wash. Neighborhood is safe, peaceful & beautiful. A great location away from big cities/attractions, but not too far.

Thank you for staying with us, Noah. We are always grateful to our customers. As you know, a house like this needs multiple people to run. From management to cleaning, we have quite a few people who handle different tasks. Therefore, it is not always possible to meet everyone. As for the house tour, we like to show our customers where things are. This is a big house with several facilities. That way, customers do not have to spend time searching for certain items. And this is stated on our profile. In your case, despite our showing, we had multiple calls, one near midnight. The showing is meant to avoid such things. In those rare cases where someone just wants a key in a box, this house is probably not for them. We leave many towels inside rooms and cabinets. It is more than enough even for large groups. I am not sure why it was not enough for just the two of you. But we could have brought more if we knew. In any case, I am glad you had a good time here. As you said, we went beyond usual to accommodate you, including allowing you to check-in early and waiting for several hours. Thanks. --Rahel
