I booked this apartment at PH Salmoon for a 9-night stay based on the photos listed on Expedia. The listing showed a clean, well-maintained apartment with smooth walls, properly installed safety equipment, and a specific brown front door as part of the unitâs presentation. Unfortunately, the actual condition of the apartment was very different from what was advertised.
Upon arrival, the unit showed clear signs of poor maintenance and cleanliness. There were visible scuff marks and damage on the walls, worn furniture, and overall signs that the property had not been properly maintained. The entry door and other details did not match what was shown in the listing photos, which made it appear that the unit advertised online was not the same as the one I was given.
More concerning were the safety and sanitation issues. I found a live cockroach in the apartment shortly after entering. In addition, the smoke detectors were not functioning properlyâone detector had no battery installed, and another smoke detector appeared to be missing entirely. This is a serious safety concern and not something any guest should have to deal with when checking into a rental property.
Because of the pest issue and the lack of working smoke detectors, I did not feel safe staying in the unit and had to relocate immediately. I was unable to stay even one night of my reservation.
I documented the condition of the property with photos and reported the situation. Based on my experience, the apartment d
