I did not get an upgrade right away but our room had a stain on the floor and hence the upgrade. Special thanks to the following employees: At the front desk: Joseph, Ricardo, Joana, Tiago and Rui. Beautiful old palace, walkable to everything
Unique, boutique hotel in a great location. Rooms were quiet. Staff was very attentive. Breakfast was delicious and had tremendous amount of choices.

The service was impeccable, personnel welcoming and warm. The room was comfortable and very well set up. It’s a high end boutique hotel. I loved the library room where you could stop for a drink or snack. The breakfast had variety and quality foods. I loved our stay!

As a globetrotter, this is the few best places in Europe I’ve ever stayed. In particular, this place is a have for book lovers. Each room is named after a famous Portuguese author. There is also a library where guests can have light fare while browsing books and relaxing after a day in the city. My only regret is I did not get to experience the wonderful restaurant BLIND because it was closed during my stay.
