.......Just Added!! New cozy screened porch overlooking the wooded dunes off 2nd floor bedroom!! Desirable location in Saugatuck on the west side of the Kalamazoo River. This newer built home offers the best of both worlds with a trail directly behind the house JUST HALF MILE through the spectacular wooded dunes leading to Oval Beach/or half mile to the beach on Oval Beach Rd. (Perryman St.)...... AND...... just across the river from the heart of downtown Saugatuck/ STEPS AWAY FROM THE CHAIN FERRY (Runs Memorial Day thru Labor Day). Drive 2 miles around the harbor to downtown Saugatuck when chain ferry not in operation. Lower level includes bedroom with queen bed and Roku streaming TV. Full bath bath and laundry room. Upper level includes bedroom with queen bed and Roku streaming TV and full bath... open floor plan living room with dining area and kitchen. Queen sleeper in living room. The upper level boasts a large furnished screened porch with dining area and has partial views of the Kalamazoo River. An open balcony overlooks the beautiful wooded dunes. The 6 person hot tub is just outside the entrance to the home running year round. This private setting is a great getaway in the woods yet close to all the action of Saugatuck.

Please note 2025 schedule: 3 night minimum Jan 2nd-May 22nd, 4night minimum May 23rd-Sept 1st (except July 4th week is 7 night minimum Sun-Sun). 3 night minimum Sept 2nd- December 26th. New Years is 5 night minimum Sat- Thurs.

We so enjoyed our vacation! The location was perfect, we liked being in a wooded area and it was a short ride to the shops. The house was immaculate. The furniture was comfortable and the beds were heavenly. The kitchen was fully stocked. It was nice to park in a garage, too. Doesn't get any better than this!

Everything about this beautiful property was perfection. It was spotless and well-appointed. The decor was perfect. The location was close to downtown but afforded privacy too. We would stay here again and fell in love with Saugatuck. Rob the host was so kind and provided information on restaurants and things to do. He was even kind enough to call me when I had a question. Very pleasant, as was Jayne his property manager. They were both very accommodating. Highly recommend staying at this property. We hope to return soon!

We loved our stay at River Groove! The house is very nice and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the hot tub and screened in porch. Host is very kind and friendly. Great location, only a short walk to the chain ferry, which we took daily to walk to restaurants and shops. The house is also close to Mt Baldhead, once you get to the top of the stairs, it’s a pretty easy walk to the beach. If you don’t want to do the stairs, I recommend driving rather than walking along Perryman St, it’s too narrow to be safe for pedestrians, no shoulder in many spots. We will certainly book this home again when we come back to Saugatuck!

This home was perfect for our needs. While the main living area is open-plan, the bedrooms and porches offer cozy spaces, so you have the best of both worlds. The kitchen was well appointed, and all of the furnishings were nice. The location was just right for us. We felt close to everything but still in a quiet area. Communication with Rob was terrific.

Excellent!

Four of us in the rental and all four loved it! The place was clean, had plenty of dishes, towels. We walked to the beach about 9 minutes but if you have lots to carry then better to drive. Walked to the chain ferry, walked to Mount Baldhead took the 300 steps up the dune, walked to the crows nest- what a fabulous view.We saw deer everyday by the rental. This place is so lovely, quiet. We hope we have the opportunity to stay here again.

Wonderful house and excellent location. It has everything you need. The host, Rob, is great to work with.We walked to Oval Beach and Mount Baldhead. We took the Star of Saugatuck boat tour. Spring getaway trip

This house rental exceeded all expectations. The property was spotless upon arrival — perfectly clean and clearly well-maintained. Communication with the owner was seamless from start to finish; they were prompt, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. We had an incident where we locked ourselves out after returning from dinner around 9:30pm, and Rob the owner was very responsive. He arranged for a locksmith person to come and solved the issue! We are very grateful for his generosity. In addition, the location was perfect — quiet and safe, and less than 15 minutes away from shops, restaurants, and local attractions (across the river). This would have been even less when the ferry would be open for the season. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Our happy place

We have stayed in this pristine property many times and can’t wait to return. Rob’s house is exquisite—beautifully decorated in mid century modern decor and still so cozy! You can’t beat the location and will be inspired to take many walks down to the water or through the woods and adjacent neighborhoods. The hot tub is incredible! Love this restorative place.

Has Everything You Need!

Came up for a quick spring getaway, and could not have asked for a better place to stay! The house itself was really cool and everything was super clean and inviting. Really enjoyed the layout of the house, including the convenience of the garage. Between the hot tub and screened in porches, there was plenty of space to relax outside. And we were a short walk away from some great hikes. Great location and close to everything you'd want or need. Would definitely try to stay here again and have already talked about coming back when the ferry is in season.

Off-season girls getaway

Fresh, modern, well-decorated house. Close proximity to Oval Beach and 302 steps at Baldhead State Park. Garage use was a bonus. Eclectic, artistic community with wonderful restaurants and unique shops.

Happy to be back at River Groove

This was our third stay at River Groove. It is a beautiful home in an ideal location. Nestled in the woods, it’s a great place to relax and unwind while being close to the beach and downtown Saugatuck. It’s a quick drive to the beach but also a nice hike through the woods if you prefer. The chain ferry is very close to the house and takes you right into town. The house itself is well designed and maintained. I particularly enjoy sitting on the screened porches listening to birds and the breeze through the woods. It is just a great place!
