Cabin was very homey in a nice quiet neighborhood just a quick 35 minute drive to China Peak Mountain Resort. Loved the views from the back deck as well as the cozy fireplace and dining area
Mostly clean, all kitchen dishes were plastic, Non-stick cookware was very old, water was brown and tasted of iron. Carpet was dirty. Upstairs rooms were freezing first night, upstairs toilet leaked and ran water constantly. No outside lights so difficult to find the house. Very icy on entry could have been handled with salt. Did not know that cameras would be watching us at all times. We hope there were no cameras in the house, this was also an unknown.
Nicely redecorated & weâll happily stay again. Some recommendations:
It wouldâve been lovely to get to use the fireplace during the inclement weather, but itâs not allowed for some reason. Iâd recommend inserting something like the Electric Fireplace Insert. We have one in our downstairs at home and itâs wonderful, it can be turned on for just ambiance or you can use it as a heater.
Parking is limited, thereâs only one spot for this house, which the neighbors kept using. Thankfully the 2nd family to stay next door, weâre happy to move. Perhaps put the house number on the tree in front of the house?
Lighting: As the interior is painted white, it would be lovely if they used warm or soft white LED bulbs, to warm things up a bit. The bright white lights that there right now, can be a bit cold and glarey.
I reserved the home for President's weekend. A week before our stay we found out my husband wouldn't get that Monday (President's Day) off. I reached out to VRBO almost 2 weeks before our stay and received no response to see if we could modify our stay to Sunday. I finally was able to the get in touch a couple of days before our stay and they said no because it was just requested. I responded that I reached out over a week and half ago and they said because they did not hear back from the owner they did not respond to my inquiry. When we arrived to the home someone had just left because there was footsteps going down the steps.
The home was not very clean- there was mouse poop on the countertops, coffee, sugar and creamer all over the counter that the mouse that bit into and drug across the counter. The mouse was in and out the entire stay and my kids were scared the entire time. I reached out to property management after our stay again requesting at least half of the refund for Sunday night that we did not stay and still did not receive a response. I would not stay here again.
