"We really enjoyed our stay at Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu and would return if we find ourselves in Kyoto again. The bakery/coffee shop in the lobby was a real highlight. We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, although the time limit was a bit annoying. Would have preferred to stay longer and enjoy more drinks. The hotel was conveniently located to walk to many attractions in Kyoto. Room and bed were comfortable and our room was very spacious. "

"The hotel location is great. The train is a short walk and there’s even a direct pathway. Not crowded part of town so that was nice too. Hotel is clean and the amenities are above and beyond. Breakfast buffet was also good. Service was top notch. We dropped our luggage off early and it was in our way by check in time."

"I selected this hotel for its location, within meters' walking distance of the train station. The positive reviews were a contributing factor in my selection, and I want to add to them now. Upon walking through the door and riding the escalator up one floor, I was immediately greeted warmly by the staff at the counter. They checked me in quickly and were able to answer all my questions. A couple of the staff spoke very good English. There was a gentleman who was particularly eager to please and very friendly, offering an umbrella on a rainy day and helping me with luggage forwarding paperwork. The cafe at the bottom of the hotel was exceptional. I highly recommend getting a coffee and their morning breakfast options, which include an egg, toast, and a few other items. Now, for the room itself. I did not try the restaurant, but it looked very nice. My room was consistently clean and very quiet. One of the days during my trip I was quite sick and was able to relax and recharge in my room without interruption. Having so many convenience stores, a pharmacy, and the train station within a very short walk was much appreciated as I recuperated. The bed was comfortable, and I was able to cool the room down to my preferred temperature easily. Overall, if you want easy access to the Kyoto shinkansen station, I highly recommend this hotel. It is comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the on-site cafe and restaurant are worth exploring."
