We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Playa Tamarindo early May. We were very please with everything related to Hotel La Palapa. It’s a treat to be able to stay at a beachfront hotel and walk to the beach. We were also pleased with Rolando the hotel manager. He was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. Ana, the cleaning lady was also wonderful. We hope to return someday soon. We live in CR, and our drive is almost 5 hours and this hotel makes it very much worthwhile. We had been in Tamarindo once in ten years and we had forgotten how beautiful and big it was.

Our room was great and only a few feet from the beach. Our hosts Audrey and Orlando were very helpful and answered all our questions. The restaurant located next to the hotel was great and Gio was an excellent waiter.

We had a wonderful experience! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was newly renovated, had a large bathroom with two sinks, and all the necessary amenities (AC, fridge, TV, desk) plus an ocean view. The property is amazing as it’s on the beach with a private space for guests that includes hammocks, lots of chairs, tables, and wonderful massage therapists who were on-site every day! Having a restaurant and bar on the property is also convenient. Making the experience magical was waking up to all the wonderful bird songs each morning and being able to watch the sunset every night…The only downside was that there wasn’t a purified water refilling station.

This is probably one of my favorite hotels of all time the people and the food are incredible. The location is nothing short of perfect. The beds in the rooms are honestly not very comfortable, but being beachfront is nice. I’ve stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions over the years. It’s always a go to option. I would recommend the property update most of the mattresses in the rooms as the four rooms I have stayed in did not have very good beds

If you are looking for a cost effective spot on the beach, this is it. It’s a simple but practical hotel. It’s right on the beach with its own private sitting area just a step (literally) from the public area. The main amenity of Tamarindo is the beach and this spot offers it to you. If you want mega resort amenities, this probably isn’t for you. If you’re like me and just need a clean room and hot shower on the beach, this is the spot. At low tide, the beach is rocky, so you have to walk about 200 feet south to swim, but the manager told us that when we arrived. The hotel offers breakfast on site or a voucher for a next door restaurant. Beach towels are available at the front desk and each day of the stay.

This was our second time staying at Lapalapa and we will still continue to come back. You cannot beat the location, wonderful attentive staff and overall experience. The suites are so private and the grounds area feels like your own private getaway in itself. You open your sliding glass doors and are welcomed by lush greenery and swaying palm trees above with the ocean waves crashing in front of you only steps away. Paradise. We will always recommend Lapalapa to everyone going to Tamarindo Costa Rica.
