Tims Ford Lake Retreat - The Got-Away

Welcome to The Got-Away, a place where you can relax & renew. The Got-Away is a play on the phrase "the fish that Got Away". Since Tims Ford offers wonderful fishing opportunities, we thought the name would be perfect. We want our home to be a place where you can escape life's hassles with family & friends. Our Dad loved to fish, and many of the items in The Got-Away were his. As an Army/Coast Guard Veteran, the water was a second home to him. We hope it will be for you and your guests as well.
The space
The Got-Away is perfect for couples, families or a group of friends looking to get away for a long weekend or week! Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee cozied up by the fireplace on our enclosed patio. Spend your evenings relaxing with your friends and family. The Got-Away is perfect for your getaway.

Stunning home & felt at home

This get away was wonderful . It had everything you could possible need, if you possibly forgot any little essentials. The home is so beautifully decorated, this house was super clean ! Great job to the cleaning crew. Only down fall is the WiFi wasn’t good in the house or in the area.

Best Christmas House

This property is perfect for us to visit Winchester family and friends during the holidays. From the Christmas tree to the lake views and fresh smelling linens to large TV for watching football games, this house is awesome for our family of 8!

Peaceful and quiet

Out far enough for peace and quiet, but close enough to drive avout 5 miles for stores and necessities! The host is very responsive and accommodating! Will definetley stay here again The only thing we didnt like was no tvs in the bed rooms, but we didnt need them to drown out any city noise so didnt mind it at all! Perfect place for a family vacay!

Best Christmas house ever

The house was perfectly decorated for the holidays with a Christmas tree as the cherry on top. We didn’t need anything because they thought of everything. Highly recommend this house and we will be back next Christmas!

We were attending a concert in the caverns nearby. The house is lovely. We struggled to get the fire place going on the deck, disappointing but not major. The 4th bedroom (2 twins) is the only one on the bottom level with the 3rd full bathroom. We are a group of three couples so one couple just went from top floor queen bedroom to bottom level to shower. Again, not major but good to be aware. Everything in the house is clean! So festive for Christmas! We really enjoyed our time.

This was the cleanest, most well stocked for cooking et food prep, and most modern et well decorated place we have ever stayed. The attention to detail was evident in every space. I had a few ?s regarding the coffee pot prior to staying-whether it was a keurig or a traditional coffee pot. The host not only purchased an additional coffee pot for us, she even purchased pumpkin spiced flavored coffee and coffee syrup for us. What a nice treat for fall! The host also responded very quickly with any question I had during the stay. We will definitely stay again.
