Very nice hotel in the middle of Ubud but in a small street so it was very quiet location. Easy walking distance to everything-ridge,palace,monkey forest, massages.

The hotel was so beautiful, serene and cozy. It’s centrally located in Ubud and there are so many good food options that are within a walkable distance. Even though it’s located in a busy area, the street it’s on is quiet and this gives a relaxed feel to the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were very hospitable. The property is a real gem. Located on a quiet side street near the city center and everything that you may need in Ubud: restaurants (including vegan), bars, sites, shops, boutiques, spas, yoga studios (10min walk to Yoga Barn), etc. The hotel is quiet, very clean, well-maintained, with pool and beautiful garden. Batu Empug Cottages is a small hotel but neat and clean with fabulous and helpful staff. It is conveniently located in quiet laneway not far from the markets and dining places. Yoga studios are a 5 minute walk away. The pool is clean with towels provided. A small cafe on site makes wonderful local dishes and serves drinks and snacks pool side. I will most definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay here! The room was clean and quiet. The pool and gardens area was beautiful. The staff were so kind and accomodating and let us have our room early. The bathroon exhaust wasn't the strongest however, and we did see one cockroach in the bathroom. So that area could have been a bit cleaner!

8 Night Stay at Batu Empug Cottages

I stayed 8 nights at The Batu Empug Cottages & thoroughly enjoyed my time. The staff are all so friendly, responsive & helpful. The hotel is thankfully off the very busy Main Street of Ubud but within a very short walk from so many things like the many restaurants of Ubud, The Monkey Forest, Palace & a beautiful walk through the rice fields. Lucky bonus - the owners son’s wedding occurred during my stay and all hotel patrons were invited to attend. Great time, great hotel… I’d definitely stay here again.

Clean and spacious room. 10-15 min walking distance from ubud central. Breakfast was nice and could be delivered to room. The most amazing thing about the hotel was the staff. They were all super friendly and helpful. The only thing that can be improved is that the hair dryer is a bit weak.
