I'll start off by saying that the staff made this an exceptional stay.
Nothing was too much trouble, all requests were accepted and in good humour as well. We had a good rapport with everyone during our stay. The were top class.
Being able to communicate requests via Whatsapp made things so much easier than many hotels we have stayed at.
The spa, the in house restaurant, the breakfast buffett, room service, it was all excellent.
This hotel is handily placed right on one of the main roads in Ubud, but the way the hotel is laid out, you would never know.
We had one of the pool villas that was some distance from main reception and the main buildings, but that just added to the exclusive nature of the room.
There were some small elements that make this a four star hotel rather than a five star. There were occasions when the room wasn't cleaned. We also felt it strange that the coffee sachets in the room were from Nescafe, when we'd have hoped they could have been a local speciality. It is those types of little touches that could have meant a five star rating.
Some of the fit & finishings around the pool area could have done with being updated, but I understand that this is a tough weather environment to operate in and that extreme sunshine and heat followed by torrential rain does not make this easy to ensure that the decking is it's best.
But this is nit-picking, if the opportunity came to stay in Ubud once again, we would have no hesitation to stay at KajaNe Mua.
