The Hall of Villa Migliorati
Medieval portion of the villa. In ancient times it was the main entrance. Place of relaxation and charm just a few kilometers from Florence. Galileo Galilei, the father of modern science, stayed in the residence.
Historic house overlooking the ancient courtyard of Villa Buonamici. It was built in the 13th century as a fortification, being part of the towers to protect the valley and still retains the proud aspect of the tower. In the Renaissance it was transformed into a comfortable residence by the noble Buonamici family, friend of Galileo Galilei, who stayed here as a guest in the 17th century. At the entrance of the house, on the stone portal, the coat of arms of the noble family is carved. The house is located in the ancient village of Savignano set on the slopes of the Protected Area of the Monti della Calvana. It is located exactly on the border between the woods and fields of olive trees that descend to the valley floor, just above the slow-flowing stream and crosses the village until it reaches the small Romanesque church. It is arranged on one floor for a total of 200 square meters. It has been expertly restored and furnished with pieces from the ancient Tuscan tradition. It retains a particular charm, still having the ancient plaster and original terracotta tiles. On the ceiling of the main hall you can admire the typical Tuscan bricks dated A. D. 1658. It has a private portion of the courtyard facing the house equipped with table, chairs and barbecue for outdoor meals, shared use of the pool and garden.
The pool can be shared with other guests. possibility of 1 extra single bed on request. possibility of cot and high chair on request.
the house is located in a medieval village overlooking a pristine stream and is completely surrounded by greenery on the border between the forest and the typical olive groves that characterize the Tuscan countryside.
Ideal point to easily reach places of cultural and historical interest, easily visited in a day (Florence, Prato, Pistoia, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Volterra and the other famous places of the splendid Tuscany). Car is required.
We had a great stay at Cristina's villa near Prato. The property was beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool was great after long days of sightseeing in the area. We found the location convenient for exploring Florence, lucca, and Pisa. we did a day trip to the cinque terra and one to Venice. Our unit had nice private outdoor and indoor seating areas, it was very clean and well supplied. We went with our four older children and there was lots of space for our family.
We really enjoyed the stay here in this countryside villa outside Vaino. After a very busy 4 days in Rome, we really appreciated the quiet, calm respite we found here. The pool was gorgeous and very refreshing on the hot afternoons. My kids especially liked the creek behind the residence with lovely fireflies at night. We will definitely return again!
We had a great time, our host was very helpful. The landscaping, the stream nearby, the view , the clean historic house was all very wonderful. Lounging by the pool was definitely a highlight of our trip. Thank you so much for a great experience!
This was our first trip to Italy and we absolutely loved it. Cristina was so sweet and patient with us as we hit some traffic on our way to the villa. It was everything we expected and more. She called and reserved a place for us to get dinner as we were starving after a day of travel. We ended up at that restaurant twice because we loved it so much! The villa looked exactly like the pictures and equipped with everything we needed. It was serene and so peaceful and we had the sound of the creek which was very relaxing. Cristina had a book full of recommendations of what to see where to eat among emergency numbers and anything you could think of. We will definitely be returning to Italy one day as there is still so much to see and do. We would stay here again without a doubt!
our group of eight people stayed at cristinas apartment for one week and we had a great time. the pool area looks even better in real life than on the pictures. the entire apartment has authentic Italian interior design.
if we get the chance to make holiday in the tuscany region we will definitely consider booking one of cristinas apartments again.
We were tired of staying in hotels and wanted a more genuine Italian experience for our vacation. We could not have been more pleased with the villa. It is very old, Galileo once stayed there, but beautifully restored. The 3 bedrooms were spacious and all had great views of the countryside. There is a modern kitchen with microwave and dishwasher. The pool is particularly wonderful with shaded areas and it has views of the Tuscan countryside and nearby town of Viano. You will need a car, of course, but it is not far from either Viano or Prato where you can easily catch the train into Florence, which is about a 25 minute inexpensive train ride. There are grocery stores in both towns, where the food was remarkably inexpensive. The villa was a perfect alternative to staying in Florence. The family who owns the villa is very helpful, providing a book that contains suggestions for things to do nearby in Tuscany. The villa has my highest recommendation. It is called Il Salone.

Boccaccios Zuflucht

Villa Bellissima
We can't speak highly enough of our amazing time at Villa Miglorati. Spectacular views, beautiful pool, a gorgeous historic villa, and most importantly, warm Italian hosts who offered us olive oil from their vineyard and local wine upon arrival.
We stayed in one of their villas on the mutli-villa property, but had the pleasure of touring the others... all which were immaculate with historic furnishings... several villas had brand new bathrooms as well.
It was a peaceful retreat and very easy to drive to Prato to catch the train into Florence for the day. We enjoyed driving around Chianti and exploring small towns as well.
