Just southeast of central Zurich is Weinegg, a sprawling, semi-rural district set on a wooden hillside far above the city. This peaceful area is an easy introduction to the city, with plenty of conveniences. There are also notable cultural attractions, including Zurich's Tram Museum, where you can see decommissioned cars from the 19th and 20th centuries, and the University of Zurich Botanical Gardens, where you can explore the world of plants. Wine lovers will want to save time on the weekends to explore the various vineyards set in the hills of Weinegg. The neighborhood is served by several bus, tram and S-Bahn lines, making it easy to get around.
