Just off the front door is a large deck with a full patio table and chairs to seat four. Great views of Rio Del Mar Beach. On the first floor there is a full bathroom with a newly remodeled bathroom and bedroom with a full sliding door giving you additional access from this room directly to the deck. Both bedrooms and stairway have plush carpeting and the remainder of the house has new Pergo style hardwood floors. There are fantastic vaulted ceilings as well as stainless steel appliances and beautifully crafted white kitchen cabinets. There is an additional patio just off of the kitchen as well.

Fire dept came out when the carbon monoxide alarm went off; discovered the fire/smoke alarms were several years out of date; black ants in the kitchen; smelly carpet; no comfortable chairs; in general too plain and nothing to say "Welcome, we're glad you are here."The Location was the best.

The location of the property everything was lovely. My only concern was the furniture was not comfortable. It’s staging furniture. There’s no longevity sitting ? Not comfortable other than that it a nice property suggestions, comfortable couch and a chair for television watching sitting to be visiting .

Great location. Walking distance from the beach and amenities. Can't fault it, really good. However, the property feels outdated, had an 80s vibe, and on arrival it smelled musty. Kitchen area was well equipped, but one of the bedrooms could do with some storage space and a mirror, as we struggled with storage. Bathrooms were fine, but again in need of modernising especially the showers. We enjoyed our stay but, unfortunately didn't match our expectations as we were expecting a little luxury as it wasn't cheap.

The house is nice and quirky. However finding the entrance and opening of the sliding door was challenging. It is pity that the nice big terrace is not adjacent to the living room and we couldn’t use the balcony by the kitchen due to the overgrowth of the giant ferns 😅

Good location, wierd layout

This property was close to the beach, but very poorly laid out. You went up a flight of stairs to reach the deck, which is where the main entrance was. Then you entered on the lower floor, which is where there was a bedroom and tiny bathroom, and you had to walk up narrow stairs to the next floor to reach the living area. The furniture was not particularly comfortable, but there was a nice kitchen. Temperature regulation was a problem; the bottom bedroom tended to be much colder than upstairs, and the entire living space was quite musty-smelling. We had to leave the windows open to get that smell out of the house, which tended to make it pretty cool inside. That being said, it did meet our needs.

This place is pretty much as advertised. The only down side was that there is only one uncomfortable small couch to sit on in the livingroom, the other option is to sit at the diningroom table. If you are a young couple on the go and not spending much time here other than to cook, eat and sleep, this place is great.

Killer Little Beach House!

Overall the stay was just what we needed! The house upon arrival was a little dirty so we did have to clean and for peace of mind wash all the linens provided. However, when I notified the property managers they were amazing in getting us what we needed. The homeowner has lots of no sand in the house signs so make sure to utilize the hose next to the first landing of the stairs. Aptos is a Gem and we definitely will be using Bailey Property Management again in the future. Make sure to go to the Aquarium and El Cantaro for lunch! If you like local beers and good food in Aptos we came to love a new establishment called Churchill & Beers Happy Beaching!

Very good location, close to the beach, quiet neighborhood. Nice property, spacious and clean. Kitchen is equipped with everything that is needed for a short stay. Great heater, works very quick, the nights were chilly, but heater helped a lot. The only thing that was not very good is that the water in the master bathroom sink drains very slowly. Overall is very good, highly recommended.

Peaceful Spot with walkable beach access

Perfect location, misleading photos

This location is perfect. So close to the beach and walking path. We were disappointed in the photos and felt misled that the deck was off of the kitchen. In reality the deck is off of the downstairs bedroom there’s no place to sit outside during a meal unless you walk downstairs with all your food and drinks and sit on the deck. The carpets are very old and need replacement. The beds were sub comfortable. The neighbors across the street had a huge group and were parting until 1AM. The downstairs bathroom is very very small. The downstairs room also smelled very “damp”. Most of the pots and pans need replacement. The best part about this place is the large upstairs bathroom and it location, everything else needs improvement!

Aptos summer vacation- 2 adults, 2 teens

The property is located in a great area if you're interested in spending time at the beach as it's just a short walk away on a dirt path. We loved walking along the ocean path and checking out the pier and the concrete ship. The property is also very close to Capitola (a new favorite town) and Santa Cruz so there are lots of things to do in this area. The kitchen is very nice and well equipped. The rest of the house is a little dated and although quaint, the furniture could be updated and better configured. The living room has only 1 long couch (that isn't very comfortable) and a larger glass/metal dining table and a glass/metal coffee table. As we were a family of 4 (including 2 teenagers), three people could sit on the couch and 1 always had to sit at a hard chair at the table. I would reconfigure the room allowing for a smaller couch and a few comfortable chairs and a more comfortable table that wasn't as large or could be expanded. This may not be important to many people but I walk into every room thinking about how I can improve it so take my feedback with a grain of salt. Aside from the above, my only real complaint was in booking. When I booked, it said the only additional fee was a cleaning fee and booking fee. Linens and everything were included according to the VRBO site. However, upon booking, a linen fee of $160 was added. I emailed the management company and they said they would credit back the linen fee if I brought my own which we did as I thought paying $160 for sheets on the bed was a little steep and unnecessary. I think it's pretty normal to expect sheets on the bed. I'm glad we brought our own as there were no extra sheets and minimal towels (4 total). I'm not trying to be negative but others may want to bring extra towels and also take the linen fee into consideration. Overall, we had a very nice stay and the location was really perfect for us as there was so much to do. In fact, one of my favorite activities was an awesome hike in Aptos across from the grocery store at the top of the hill. There were plenty of redwoods and it was so close.

Excellent Property for a Beach stay

We are very familiar with the area with having a large family reunion for several generations at Sea Cliff. The location was perfect for walking to the beach. We found the check in and out process with the management company extremely quick having signed the contract before our visit, in/out less then several minutes and the property is near by. The property met all expectations and can recommend and we hope to rent again. Only issue to note is the poor water pressure in the larger upstairs bathroom, but that was expected based on the previous reviews posted and is not unusual for beach properties.
