The location was central and walkable, close enough to walled city and airport. We did take taxi as well as walked. Accommodations were excellent! Great sleep! Staff were very pleasant and helpful! Overall well worth the value….

Terrible mould smell in bad location

I have been travelling around Colombia and Ecuador for the last 3 weeks and this is by far the worst hotel. The room I was given does not look like on the picture, very small bathroom with mould everywhere and water leaking from the shower. I had to ask 3 times to get the soap and shampoo refilled as it was nearly empty when I arrived, no toilet paper either, had to use tissues. Breakfast menu was hidden and only given to spanish guest, I was told to use the buffet and then I realised there was a special menu when I saw it given to spanish speaking guests. No coffee or tea facilities in the room or in any communal areas which is a bit surprising for the price of the hotel. I went for breakfast and told the cleaning lady not to do my room but she did it anyway and my bed and pillows were wet, I asked her what happened and she said they put alcohol on the linen to smell good. When she realised it was really wet, she changed my pillow case. The location is in front of the castle (my mistake) so you will be stuck there and far from everything. I tried taking a uber on day 1 and they said no uber its not safe, take one of our "confidence drivers" which was charging me 4 times the price so not so sure the area is safe at night. There was lot of noise in the corridors at night also. There are only few rooms with the castle view, the rest is on top of a busy road with lot of noise. The promised spa treatement is 10mns feet or hand massage. Get a better hotel in the centre.
