With so much history around Charleston, this Inn only added to the experience. Felt we were back in time, but also modernized to accommodate today's data needs.
Amazing place, beautiful courtyard, friendly and accommodating staff, wine tasting for the guests, brandy tasting on certain days, more than enough towels in the room, and such a great location!
This little hidden gem of an historic hotel is tucked away in THE PERFECT location. Out the front door is King Street, with all the big name shops. Out the back door, across the small lot where your car is parked, the Charleston market is only a short two minutes away. You are truly in the middle of everything, with no need to move your car unless you want to go to the beach or leave the historic district. The hotel itself is stunning. Hospitality is as Southern as it gets, with breakfast in the morning, wine and cheese reception in the evening, and a sherry night cap before bed, all complimentary. The room was unbelievably spacious and comfortable. The option to light the gas fire place was a nice touch. Every employee we spoke to was so kind and helpful. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
We took this trip to Charleston as a mother daughter senior trip. After being indecisive in choosing an inn or hotel, we finally decided on the Kings Courtyard Inn. We ended up being so happy with our decision. The whole place was so charming. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We had a couple of extra little “wishes” and they made them happen. The room (2 double beds) was perfect and larger than I felt like the photos made them seem. Very clean. We were very pleasantly surprised by the warm breakfast options that were brought to us each morning with no extra charge. We will definitely be back. 👌

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
If you gave the option for half stars I would give this place a 2.5 star rating. The hotel itself was ok but the rooms had paper thin walls and you can hear anyone in the next rooms or above easily as well as anyone walking by the room. The fountains outside could be heard and it was load. I mentioned this to the front desk person and she agreed that the walls were thin but said people in surrounding rooms would be gone the next night as the place had emptied out that day. The noise from the fountains and people walking by continued again the next night. I was even offered another quieter room away from the noise. In addition parking there had a barrier and I had to park for 15 or so minutes at a closed bank parking. After I walked into the hotel and got directions on how to access the parking lot o went back to the car to move it and was greeted by a ticket cop who issued me a $50 ticket. Seemed a little strange being in an empty bank parking spot for only a short time. I told the hotel front desk and asked if they would take care of it as access to their lot was blocked. Their manager only covered the equivalent of $35 of the fee. If a hotel has a parking area defined that is public they should make sure access is available to guests and not have guests jump through hoops. Below average service considering the three strikes I encountered in my experience. So 2.5 rating and I wouldn’t go there again.
Amazing location, clean rooms, helpful staff. Our favorite was the free wine and cheese hour, room service, and they even had umbrellas when it was raining. Parking is just in the back of the inn. Will stay again!
Our room was lovely but faced King Street. Noise from the street, especially music from the oyster bar across the street, was excessive. Hotel staff were very nice but offered nothing to compensate for our inability to sleep and my having to cross the street to bar, at night, and personnaly ask manager to turn the music down.
Really nice touches included in stay including wine hour and complimentary breakfast. Amazing location, staff, loved the feel of the building. Beautiful 😊
