good small place between Cincinnati and Dayton

La premiere impression en arrivant est celle d'un petit motel, mais le confort et la proprete sont bien meilleurs Au petit dejeuné, dans une belle ancienne maison, il y a un buffet avec du choix, mais les assiettes et les couverts sont en plastiques The jardin est merveilleux point à ameliorer : l'air conditionnée qui est ancienne et bruyante, ainsi que la VMC dans la salle de bain qui fait un bruit infernalle. La piscine n'etait pas ouverte

The young man who checked us in was very personable, friendly, and efficient. The inn is very simple, but our room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. However, when we inquired about the complimentary breakast, which was described on the website (with pictures) as a country style buffet, unlike any ordinary hotel breakfast, we were told the new owners cut it out and it was no longer offered. The main reason we picked this inn over other hotels was not only for the location but for the breakfast that was to served in their on-site restored Historic Kirkwood House. We had no prior notice whatsoever that "a hearty spread" breakfast would not be offered. After our departure , we checked the website again and it was still there, offering that breakfast to their patrons. The least this establishment could have done was let their patrons know that breakfast was no longer offered and let them decide if they want to book or not. That was very disappointing.

This was so incredibly clean and comfortable and only 8 minutes from Kings Island! Great stay!!! Note: they are not doing breakfast this winter but we did not mind as the value for this super clean, friendly, and convenient stay to Kings island winterfest only 8 min away was so worth it!!

Not sure how they have a good rating. Very outdated, room not the cleanest, tv didn't work properly, they no longer serve breakfast buffet, even though it is still listed on their website and on Expedia and staff not around to answer the phone or in the office when I went to check out. Will not go back.

This little Inn deserves all the stars and more! We will never stay anywhere else again when we are in the area. It was like stepping back into a world where human interaction and customer service were paramount, and I didn’t realize how much I had missed that! Check-in was easy and the sweet lady who owns the property (who performed our check-in) was just lovely! The room was absolutely spotless and so cozy. I loved that the decor was more traditional style, as I am so over the somber grey, industrial Cyborg decor every other location is going to. The piĂšce de rĂ©sistance was the free breakfast every morning in the historic home adjacent to the Inn, built in 1795. The home is to die for. So gorgeous and well maintained and appointed. Two lovely ladies prepare a spread that does not disappoint! From eggs and sausage to cereals and fruits, yummy (often homemade) pastry varieties and more- everything was delicious, and they were so kind and friendly. You felt like you were visiting old friends, not a business. Not to mention you get to sit in the formal dining room of the home looking out the same windows Henry Clay once did while you enjoy your coffee. Honestly just book a stay here. You will not be disappointed and more than likely, you will fall in love just like we did!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The staff at Kirkwood were just fantastic,from quick check-in to breakfast staff everyone was great. The owner and her daughter were both present at check-in. The room was very clean and modern. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet in the historical house across the parking lot. We were greeted by Dee Dee on the first day and Melissa on the next two days. It was so cozy we felt like we were in a Hallmark movie. The food was great, homemade bread pudding and poppyseed bread were just a couple of the offerings. We will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to the Cincinnati area.

Parking out right outside our door. Actual physical keys as it is an older place but well kept. Pervious reviews say it is dated but we thought it was in better shape than most newer hotels. Owner was amazing older lady. All staff was so nice and pleasant. Will definitely be back and we live over 8 hours away!

Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. The facilities were neat and clean and breakfast impressive and in a lovely setting. Two suggestions: 1. get better mattresses as ours was not the most comfortable. 2. Use real silverware and glassware at breakfast. It was a bit jarring (and not that great for the environment) to have plastic/styrafoam items amidst the lovely antiques and delicious food.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kirkwood Inn. This place is a hidden gem with their clean rooms, great rates, and fresh hot breakfast. Especially enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. We will definitely stay again when in the area!
