This home is a vintage piece of Short North history, likely built between 1900-1920 (original records were lost in a fire at the county courthouse). The home features beautiful original woodwork and has been updated over the years.
You'll park at the back of the house, in a gravel lot that can fit two cars. The back yard is fully fenced and you'll be able to open the back gate with a code that we'll provide. You'll then walk through the back yard and enter the house using a keypad lock on the back door. Pets are welcome and the back storm door has a built-in doggy door.
You'll enter into the kitchen at the back of the house. The full bathroom (the only bathroom) is located on the first floor. The home has been professionally furnished by local design firm SB Home and features high ceilings on the first floor. The back yard has a round patio table with seating for 6; the inside dining room has a round table with seating for 5.
Kitchen: we've provided a stocked kitchen with most things that you should need for basic cooking. A Keurig coffee maker is available and we'll provide a few pods to get you started.
Sleeping arrangements: On the second floor, enjoy two large bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The couch in the living room on the first floor also folds out into a queen size bed, and the living room has double/French doors that can be closed, so it can be functional as a third bedroom. The house can comfortably sleep 6 guests in the 3 beds.
The stairs to get upstairs are typical for an old house - a little steep and narrow, if you're used to more modern homes.
Laundry: laundry is available for guests to use in the closet of the dining room on the first floor. The house also has a small basement (accessed from an exterior cellar door) - the basement will not be accessible for guests. There is not enough hot water in the tank to fill the entire bathtub (it will fill 1/2 to 3/4 if needed for a kids bath).
Outdoor space: the back patio and garden is comfortable and fully fenced for your pets!
Other notes: the home is very close to High St and is bordered on two sides by church parking lots. The parking lots are typically empty, except for Sunday mornings and on other occasions when the church has events. There will be more traffic during those times - the two gravel parking spots behind the house are dedicated to this property, so parking shouldn't be an issue!
There is not enough hot water in the tank to fill the entire bathtub. It will fill 1/2 to 3/4 if needed for a kids bath. This has not been an issue for normal showering - just wanted to note it here!

The house is a clean and comfortable space, and the location is a short walking distance to several bars, restaurants, a variety of shops, and a large supermarket. Scooters available to rent all over town through apps.
Stayed for four nights for my sons orientation at his Ohio State visit. Here are my overall thoughts on our experience at this home. The descriptions and pictures are as described. Only description I would include is the single bathroom is on the 1st floor. Place was charming and comfortable. Parking was easy at the rear of property. The biggest drawback is the vehicle noise heard for our stay. The home is on two busy streets. Being an older home you could hear vehicles and people talking outside at almost all times. This is a busy area of town and sleeping was a challenge especially on the Friday night while we were there. Being awaken by police sirens at 2 am was a rude awakening. That being said if you are a heavy sleeper maybe not a big deal. The other item to note is the adjacent church that appears to feed, house, or provide service to the homeless. Great for our churches to do this but there was a homeless presence at all times. No one bothered us and was not an issue but was a little nervous and in edge with the family. The place could have been better stocked with kitchen pots and pans as there was only one small omelet pan and a small pot to cook with. The location is near the campus and alot of walking dining places and grocer though. Host was easy to reach. Beds were also comfortable. All in all.not a bad stay but will likely stay elsewhere next time for a quieter stay in maybe a little nicer area.
