Property is a beautiful historic hotel. The staff was great. The only suggestion we have is we feel they should have been more forthcoming that the room did not have a shower and only a large tub. We would definitely return to this hotel but would request a room with a shower in our advance in our special request.

Started off with poor experience - we wanted to shorten our stay in Florence and contacted Expedia before cancellation period. Hotel asked Expedia agent to send email to confirm cancellation of 2 days from our trip which Expedia did. When we arrived at the hotel, staff did not acknowledge the email from Expedia and refused to cancel two days without charging a penalty. The hotel itself was quite dated, the rooms smelled dusty, and the bedding was uncomfortable. The carpets looked 100 years old. There are historic hotels that are well maintained and renovated, but this isn’t one of them. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

The property is very nice and well situated. A 3-4 minute walk from Santa Novella train station, in the midst of the hubbub. We had a great terrace attached to our room with full sun and views over the tops of surrounding buildings - also gave us nice airflow and light. Our room was very clean, renovated, bright and easy. Breakfast is very good and the staff all very helpful and pleasant.

We enjoyed our recent day for three nights while in Florence. It is close to the train station and sites. The classic hotel had nice amenities, a large bathroom and a delicious breakfast!

Our room was clean, quiet & close to amenities for walking to the sites of Florence. The breakfast was very good. Small hiccup with the AC the first day but the maintenance got right on it and we were cool in no time. Which was perfect in 38 degrees! Appreciated 2 luggage holders so we could be up off the floor. All the staff was helpful with organizing taxi and helping us with all our questions.

It is very close to the train station and central market. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is very nice. The hotel is old, with heavy, brass keys to get into the rooms. It feels like an upscale hotel in Manhattan from the 1950s. Beds were comfy with crisp, white sheets and there was good AC.... very nice when it was 94F outside!

Hotel Albani is a great little hotel in Florence. The location is great for walking around the city and it's close to the train station if you're using the train like we did. You can walk there in just a few minutes with luggage without a problem. The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was a good start to the morning.

It’s hard to believe this hotel had such a high rating. We had the supreme room with balcony, I would never stay here again. Staff was okay, not overly accommodating. The breakfast & restaurant was in the basement with no air & very dark. Never seen anyone eating in the restaurant the 9 nights we stayed there, as we had to get ice from restaurant every night.The bar they advertised was in their extended lobby & open nightly for 2 hrs with bartender, after that had to order from restaurant. Very small rooms. We are back in Florence after taking a cruise & staying at Hotel Calimala…definitely will recommend Hotel Calimala. Night & day difference from Hotel Albani.
