We booked what was supposed to be an upgraded room with deck 5 months ahead, in March for a July 29 to August 5 stay. We were literally given the WORST room in the entire hotel, which completely DID NOT match the room description and PICTURES. The deck picture was of a suite on the 8th (top) floor while our deck was at STREET level with PEDESTRIANS walking by our deck and windows the ENTIRE TIME. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. There is NO OTHER room at this street level facing street in the ENTIRE HOTEL. And this was a MORE EXPENSIVE ROOM than most. After complaining to the management, we received a correct room on our third day. EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THE FALSE ADVERTISING ON EXPEDIA OF THIS ROOM. Booking that far IN ADVANCE to receive this complete CRAP room and having to move rooms after having to COMPLAIN about being RIPPED OFF is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. I rarely use caps in any online reviews. If you think I'm aggravated, you should see how my wife feels.

Awesome location, but overpriced for what it is.

Hotel is in a perfect location, however it is a little outdated for the price. We had asked for housekeeping to remove the trash and give us fresh towels and a roll of toilet paper and they did not come. The conditioner bottle was empty in the shower as well. The AC was not working and they could not fix it so it was not overly comfortable when we were trying to sleep and we were quite sweaty. For the price, the AC should have been working and the trash should have been removed atleast.

The hotel is nice, it is modest but comfortable and adequate. The location is great, as it's right in the center of the Halifax Harbour and boardwalk. The restaurants are all within a short walk throughout a pretty area. The baked lobster at Water Pollo was really good and the best lobster my sea food loving wife had during our trip.
