Staff was super friendly, helpful, building was clean, room was clean, everything was very nice! FYI incase it matters for others- everything is hard surface, EVP, Tile, ect- so sound does carry from room to room/ people walking in heels on the tile hallway floors. It didn't bother us, but it did wake me up a time or two. Also Pot is legal in Hartford, so the lobby, the workers, the town in general smelt like marijuana. (if you're from out of town thats weird to experience). Everyone was very pleasant and professional, but the smell of weed was unpleasant (to us). but not anything that would change my rating of the hotel. our room did not smell, just the lobby. hotel is within walking distance of the train station- which is why we chose it. continental breakfast was waffles w/ syrup, yogurt, coffee and muffins. so if you're looking for something a little heartier- plan to go out.

The location of the hotel was extremely convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and attractive. The continental breakfast was good. I was disappointed with the pillows and the mattress. There were no pillows firm enough for side sleeping. I had to use a bath towel to give the pillow some substance. The mattress also did not have movement isolation and moved greatly whenever one person moved a little bit.

The outside of this historic hotel is stunning. I could tell someone put effort into the interior design but I don’t know, it felt a bit generic and sterile to me. I found it odd that the bar was closed on Monday.

It’s a charming hotel but in my superior room the bathroom sink was broken (drain stopper stuck), the safe was stuck locked, the clock radio didn’t play music, there was no USB-c outlet to charge i also couldn’t turn the heat above 75 but there was only one vent I noticed so it was just drafty. The bed wasn’t uncomfortable but i was hoping for better. In the end for the price it was reasonable but I was a little disappointed.

The breakfast was terrible. There was no hot water for tea and the there weren’t enough bagels and the person at the front desk made excuses when I brought this to their attention and said that they were the only person working and that is why they couldn’t bring the breakfast out.
