On a positive note!

The hotel is average and the rooms could use a renovation. On a positive note, the staff, location and restaurant food make up for it! I believe the restaurant was the “Sharks Den” the staff was great and food was good too! We were there on a Wednesday night and there was a live band. It is one of the very few hotels close to the airport which made the trip easier, as traveling with a child in a wheelchair is difficult. They also have rooms for the disabled with properly equipped bathrooms.

The place is becoming seedy. The carpet our floor hallway was dirty, and wrinkled; the walls were dirty and stained. The main elevator was out 2 of the 4 days we were there - we had to use one at the far end of a hall. The airport shuttle was "not working" and the hotel said they would reimburse us for the taxi ride to the hotel, but they didn't. They charged a $30/day (with tax) "amenities fee" beyond the price of the room - amenities (other than Wifi - which should have been part of the regular room rate in my opinion) for which we had no use: pool, gym, "etc" - whatever that is!! The restaurant had a poor selection of vegetarian food. At least, the staff we interacted with were nice, courteous and helpful. In the future I will find hotels other than Wyndham properties!!

Check-in staff was nice. Buildings were not labeled so it was a bit confusing to figure out which building our room was in. Room was clean, nothing fancy. Air conditioned. Was fine for the one night Oahu stay, to bathe & sleep. Would stay again.

Bad shuttle service

If I had not read an earlier review about the shuttle service that alerted me to the problem I would have spent hours on the curb as they did waiting for a shuttle for this hotel. The shuttled is labeled as something totally different except for a piece of paper taped to the side with small print that says Honolulu airport hotel. I never would have spotted it if not for the review of another customer that I had read earlier. I called the desk upon arrival at the airport and they didn't make me aware of the labeling of the shuttle issue. I am a senior citizen arriving at night from over seas. Waiting on the sidewalk was something that I didn't need at that point, no traveler needs that aggravation. Thank you to the other customer who took the time to review this issue, it helped me greatly. I hope this helps someone too or even better that the hotel fixes this problem and labels the shutter properly.
