Apple Valley Lake spa-like retreat. Come to gather with your family and/or friends and relax in this newly renovated home on a quiet cul-de-sac. If you like clean and organized, this is the vacation spot for you. Everything is new including furniture, mattresses, Calphalon cookware, dishes and kitchen utensils. All mattresses and pillow cases protected with encased covers. Sit on the front deck or the back porch and enjoy the view of the lake and the wildlife (deer, hummingbirds, etc). The main floor has 3 spa-like bedrooms and 2 spa-like bathrooms. The main floor has a great gathering place with the kitchen open to the dining space and living space. Don't miss any touchdowns while you are cooking with the 65" Roku TV easily viewable from the kitchen. The kitchen is a gourmet chef's dream with all amenities. The downstairs walkout basement game room has an additional sectional sofa, 65" Roku TV, card table, , a kitchenette as well as a private bedroom with a queen bed and 1 rollaway twin bed and a full bathroom with shower. A 5-minute walk to Davis Beach. Pups are welcome, poop bags and a trash can on the back porch are provided for your convenience of cleaning up after your pup. Absolutely no smoking/vaping allowed on this property and a fine of $500 will be incurred if this rule is not respected. Exterior cameras in front and back of this property are in use for safety.

The house was plenty big enough for all of the family for a wedding we attended over the weekend. With 3 bathrooms it was easy to get ready. We could have used mirrors in the bedrooms but again there was many of us getting ready for a big event otherwise I’m sure it wouldn’t have even mattered. Loved the full length mirror in the master along with all the shelves and closet space for suits and dresses. Although no one used the tv downstairs, it was nice to have that option if someone didn’t want to watch the baseball games as we were consumed with the games. We enjoyed walking the safe, quiet neighborhood and sitting out on the deck with the lake view. We didn’t get to take advantage of the fire pit or grill but again the option was nice. We did hit the grocery store (about 15 minutes away) and took advantage of the kitchen amenities, to cook a large breakfast. There was plenty of table and counter space for everyone. All the linens including towels and bedding were nice and good quality. Unfortunately my mother packed up one the blankets that laid at the end of one of the beds accidentally, thinking it was my sons because he was using it all weekend. So I was asked to replace it, as I should have been. I had no problem with this charge for again it was good quality and obviously our mistake. The house has been tastefully updated as well. Brenda was very accommodating and quick to respond when I reached out. Thank you!

Nice location and property but be prepared to be nickel and dimed by a very rude owner who will charge you for AC being on (which we never used) and fridge door not shut all the way. Left the property with no trash and clean and still charged a fee. Everything is great except owner unfortunately.

Great house but no access to the lake or community amenities.

The house is as advertised, and we really enjoyed it. We were disappointed that there was no access to the lake, beach or any community resources. We knew it was private but assumed as part of the rental, we would have guest access. We did not notice the last statement in the description that mentioned this. Google did not help by adding local resources distances that made it seem like they were available. Ultimately our fault for not seeing the last sentence. We just don't want others to have the same surprise.

Gorgeous property, porch looks right out over the water, and its just across the street! Better yet, my son lives less than a mile away, and we fot to do fireworks, on the lake, swim, and visit, all together! We even cooked breakfast and dinner, awesome kitchen for gathering!!Thank you Brenda for everything!

Brenda’s home was a wonderful experience all around. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the house and the ample amount of room for our group. The home was very very clean and had everything we could have needed during our stay. The area is beautiful, we can’t wait to stay here again in the coming years!

Only if you have family that are residents

This house was quite nice except the furniture is not user friendly if you have mobility issues. Example, My 33 yr son couldnt even get up off the sofa. Its nice furniture but for older people with back and leg issues we couldnt sit on it, so we sat at kitchen table all weekend. Other huge issue was the fact that most of the area is gated and we only found 2 common areas for fishing on the entire lake. If you dont have a passcard you cant even get to the beach. That was not explained to us til we were there. So unless you have family that live there and will put their lives on hold while you're there, this area is not for you.

Perfect stay for Kenyon Parents

This is a beautiful home with lovely views of the lake. We booked the house so we could attend our daughter’s graduation from Kenyon and found it was just what we needed to regroup between events. It is only about 10 minutes from campus and has a fully equipped open concept kitchen so we were able to have some of our meals away from the overbooked restaurants and dining hall meals. The house is well represented on the website. The photos are accurate but it is even nicer in person. So glad we booked early.

This property is very clean and comfortable! Has everything you could ask for in a rental- outdoor living space on the deck with views of the lake, as well as kitchen and laundry needs. We’ll definitely rent this property again!

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at this amazing property just 10 minutes from Kenyon College. The house was gorgeous, near a lake, and had plenty of space for my family (dog included). Highly recommended for those needing space when visiting the Gambier area.

Beautiful Stay for Kenyon Family Weekend

Our family enjoyed a beautiful stay at Brenda's Artistic Retreat! This was by far the cleanest property we have ever experienced. The kitchen was a dream and wonderful for making a homecooked meal for our Kenyon student, The beds were truly comfortable, the spacious shower was fantastic, and we all wanted to bring the couches home with us. :) There was a gorgeous view of the lake from the deck-the perfect place for morning coffee. Thank you for a relaxing and worry-free weekend!
