The staff were good and good service. The area location of the hotel is downtown and the area was a bit shady did not feel safe. The parking you have to pay for and the parking lot behind the hotel is very tight and narrow. We have a truck and could not park there. We parked in another parking lot about a 5 min walk. Overall hotel is quiet, staff are nice and for the price and for a night u can make do.

Cracks and chunks of ceiling and walls missing, bathroom fan didn't work and looked like it had not been cleaned in 10 years, too many homeless/ hard drug users hanging out right outside hotel front doors, room was tiny and very over priced for what we got ($240/night)

Poor parking a block away for $8 a night, old run down room in need of reno. Loud noises from whole buildings plumbing all night long. Bed was ok but room felt dirty to enjoy the stay. Bad location downtown.

Antique Place with no upgrades.

This is a very antique hotel with old carpets, cramped washrooms. Antique elevator that seems very noisy and creaking noise with maximum of two persons.There are no upgrages.

This hotel was conveniently located for where we wanted to be. The room was a bit small and was unable to accommodate a cot bed, but it was pleasant and clean, and quiet. The included breakfast was adequate, but not great. Also we paid for parking, but on half the days we were there, there were no parking spots available in the designated area. Quite frustrating.

False advertising

The ad for this hotel is misleading. There is limited parking on site, and additional parking 2 blocks away - it is all pay parking. Extra on top of the hotel fees. Also, it says there is a pool. There is no pool on site. It is across the road at the Y. I assume you have to pay for that as well. I did not ask, as i was disappointed with their false advertising.

They have taken great strides to modernize a vintage building. The location is excellent with many bars, restaurants and attractions (Art Gallery, Museum, River Park, etc.) all within a short walk. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. We were thankful they have dedicated parking right next to the building for only $8 extra per night. The free breakfast is a bonus. The Wi-Fi worked fine. They had non-alcoholic Ole for sale in the lobby, an unexpected plus. And nice ice water dispensers. On the other hand, the breakfast isn't so appealing if you're plant-based. An oat or soy milk option would complement the cereal for vegans; perhaps a plant-based protein. The TV is weirdly stuck in 4:3 aspect ratio, at least on the TSN channel, despite my efforts to change it. We appreciated having the mini-fridge. However, the freezer section should be defrosted from time to time. The room is pretty small and the beds and pillows are not the most comfortable, especially for watching TV. The parking, while appreciated, is quite cramped. We noticed some folks managed to shoehorn in some larger vehicles but it must have been a struggle. So overall, no deal breakers. The Plaza ticks off a lot of boxes, but the main thing is the location relative to the price. If you are looking for more spacious or luxurious accommodations in the same general location, you will have to pay much more.

Cute, older hotel with quirks. Overall an okay stay, however beds were pretty worn out and not comfortable. The parking leaves much to be desired- it’s a paid fee for tiny spots in a rather unsafe area.

The place was okay and the staff were friendly. My biggest beef would be that they advertised The hotel as having a pool. There is no pool. If you want to go swimming, they will let you into the YMCA (I'm about three blocks away) for free with your room card. In my opinion it was false advertising.
