The room was clean and bed was quite comfortable. It was a small bathroom but the shower was nice and some toiletries provided. The only real complaint is that we were beside the elevator and could hear it going up and down. If you’re going to book ask to be away from that, even one room over would make a difference. Staff were friendly and check in/out was quick and easy, and the breakfast provided was surprisingly good with hot food like eggs, sausages, pancakes. The breakfast bar was attended by Pooja who was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast time is 6-9 am and I would like to see it extended a little longer as we’re not early risers but we hustled down to get a coffee and a bite to eat only expecting a muffin or pastry so we’re pleasantly surprised with the selection. The building itself is interesting in its historic aspects and has a pub and liquor store attached which is convenient. Only surprise was the pay parking of $8 for the 24 hrs. I’m sure it was in the fine print and I didn’t read it.

A Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly Touches We had high hopes for The Plaza Hotel Downtown, but sadly, the experience fell well short. Though we appreciated the friendly staff and found the beds quite comfortable our overall stay was disappointing. Although the hotel had plenty of character, the room felt dated, the bathroom was very small, and the elevator was rickety and slow. Most concerning was the surrounding downtown area, it felt noisy, unclean, and not especially safe, which made it hard to relax or enjoy the location. The carpark was very tight, so difficult to navigate. While there were a few positives, they weren’t enough to outweigh the negatives. We hope future improvements can help this property reach its potential.

If you have a car. Its $8 a day to park in there lot. Which is very tight. I have a dodge ½ton. More suited to a small vehicle. Breakfast is included. Food was good. But I had to ask staff for condiments everyday during my week long stay. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Lots of good restaurants close by. Also if you like golf. There is a mulligan's lounge in the hotel. I would stay here again.

While the heritage building is beautiful, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. If you have a room facing 4th Ave and/or Victoria Street, prepare to be awakened by the bar crowd when they close at 2. The price point is excellent, but you are getting what you paid for!

The girl at the front desk was a complete sweetie! She bent over backwards to be accommodating. We were disappointed to not get the suite we booked but oh well, it was also disappointing to have no Wi Fi but things happen. All in all, a lovely stay. Breakfast was not very good but again,Oh well !

The good first. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was adequate. Hotel was kinda interesting in and old timey kind of way. The room was dirty. Looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a couple of weeks and deep cleaned this decade. Bathroom fixtures/tiles were chipped and cracked. The worst part though was that my room overlooked the parking lot above the bar which turns into a nightclub (at least on Saturdays). Loud bass music and street noise into the wee hours. Also there was a food truck parked immediately below my window that had a loud generator running the whole time. Not much sleep to be had! Also it's in a sketchy part of town. I could have paid $8 to park in their parking lot, but it's tucked off the street so I feel safer parking my truck in the free street parking.

There was black mold in the shower and it looked disgusting we didn’t shower. We also had housekeeping walk in at 10:00am a whole hour before checkout while we were still in bed.
