If youâve ever wondered what the Motel 6 of Kiawah Island might look like, this place is probably the closest thing.Kiawah itself is incredible. This property, unfortunately, is not.During our stay, a 60-lb glass shower door came off the track and fell while I was in the shower. Thankfully no one was hurt, but thatâs obviously a serious safety concern. The AC also went out twice, which made things especially challenging traveling with three young kids. The house has a strong musty smell, like a damp, old towel that never really dries out.The pots and pans are heavily used with the coating gone, and the utensils feel like they were pieced together from a few different junk drawers over the years. Iâve honestly had more functional setups using camping gear.Overall, the property feels tired, poorly maintained, and not well cared for. From a management standpoint, communication was inconsistent. While responses did come at times, the issues we experienced were not fully resolved during our stay, and we were told compensation would be provided, which did not end up happening. The important thing to know is that there are hundreds of homes on Kiawah that look very similar in photos.I would recommend choosing one of those instead.Kiawah is a great place to visit â I would just encourage others to carefully consider their options when booking.
The property was great for pets! Home was clean and neat, furniture was a bit tired , especially in the sunroom. The kitchen was lacking a sharp knife and hotpads and the temperature markings were worn off on the cooktop. The location was great. Close to beachwalker park and lovely sunsets on the river at the dock.
