The Space:

You'll love this Oceanwoods Cottage as your home base while you explore everything Kiawah Island has to offer! Featuring a unique redesigned floorplan, you'll notice the inside of the home is filled with lots of natural light due to the added skylights over the large and open living area. When you're not out on a beach adventure, stretch out over a sofa while you catch up with some friends, or enjoy a beautiful scenic view with a cocktail out on the back deck. The cottage is just 300 yards from the beach, so be sure to take the kids out to explore some nature - Kiawah has all kinds of beautiful marsh and dune vegetation for them to check out.



What’s nearby:

You'll have all the walking, hiking, and biking opportunities you can ask for, with over 10 miles of beach and 30 miles of trails that cover the island. Don't worry if you get hungry along the way - some of the bike trails will drop you right into Freshfields Village, around four miles away, for some great dining and shopping. Night Heron Park on Kiawah has plenty of playgrounds and green spaces for the family to enjoy, not to mention basketball courts and other family-friendly spots. Within a 25-mile drive, you'll be in downtown historic Charleston where you will find lots of great activities like shopping, fine dining, local history tours, and lots of amazing art exhibits, live music, and farmers markets.

We had the absolute best stay here. Everything was communicated clearly, the house was spotless and so cozy. It was the perfect spot for our family. We loved being so close to the beach. We hope to stay here again soon.

What an excellent property. Less than a 5 min walk to the beach. Easy access to the Kiawah parkway. The place was clean, comfortable, and cozy. Perfect for our foursome. The living room was great for tv, the second living space was great for reading. The kitchen had everything that we needed, and the coffee maker (thanks for the filters) worked like a charm. The bathrooms were clean with plenty of space. The beds were comfortable. We have already discussed that if the golf tournament returns next year, we are all in to stay here again.

Beautiful home with everything you need to enjoy the week. Things to know before you go:Beware the mosquitoes on the back deck and the bike rack but that's the outside. We used lots of lids on the white counters as protection as colors from bags and food logo seemed to transfer to it and had to be cleaned by means other than just wiping. A/C is rather loud in the queen bedroom as it's outside the window there. Still loved the place and hope to return.

All four of us loved this spotlessly clean cottage with a huge well appointed kitchen, eating area, living area bedrooms and bathrooms! The large full service kitchen was a delight, and the nice shower heads and great mattresses distinguish this cottage from most other properties we have stayed in.

Gorgeous cottage, close to the beach, completely renovated

This cottage is absolutely darling!!! We loved the decor, the beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well appointed. Giant kitchen island was great! It was both spacious and cozy at the same time. Completely renovated, gorgeous furnishings and hardwood floors. Great showers in both bathrooms with great water pressure. A short walk to the beach was an added plus. Surrounded by some of the islands most gorgeous properties, it was fun to explore by bike and on foot. The Vasasa staff were extremely responsive and helpful. The cottage was immaculate! Super clean and comfy, we can’t wait to go back! The beds were so comfortable we slept in a little longer each morning. Loved all the cozy seating areas within the cottage. Very light and airy with the open floor plan, abundant widows and skylights. Absolutely loved every aspect of our vacation at this darling accommodation. Thanks for the wonderful trip spent in this beautiful home.

Great cottage in West Beach

Lovely spot down quiet Eugenia Avenue. Comfortable beds (except the twin beds need an upgrade for adult use), nice showers, close to the beach, well-appointed kitchen. Brought back lots of memories growing up in the neighborhood.

Wonderful Spring Getaway

This house made our first stay on Kiawah very enjoyable. It was the perfect place for my family to have some downtime and explore the island. We enjoyed quick walks back and forth to the beach, a 15-minute walk to nearby Night Heron Park, and quiet evenings at the house cooking and relaxing. The entire property is well-appointed, bright, modern, and clean. I only wished that the yard and deck were tidier so we could enjoy that space more, though we stayed at just the tail end of winter/start of spring. We'll be back!

Quiet Time on Beach

House is exactly as advertised. Property management was quite responsive. The neighborhood was exclusive and quiet. Slight down side is there is a lot of construction on the multi- million dollar beach houses on the main road prior to entering. That created congestion during the day with contractors trucks lining one side of the street. The biking paths were awesome. Loved biking every day. The bike rental delivery to the door. So easy. There is the Fresh Field market which made everything convenient for food and other needs including dinner out or takeout. Perfect location during Covid-19 as there was no one on the beach. Felt like we had it to ourselves. Easy to social distance while ensuring some time away. We will definitely come back next spring. This was a wonderful secret we just uncovered. The weather was perfect every day. We will come again.

Spring break

We enjoyed our stay in Kiawah Island. The property was a great location to the beach and we enjoyed walking around and cycling. The door handle to the patio was broken which was a minor inconvenience. The bedroom was comfortable and the kids enjoyed the Netflix. We have Netflix on our devices but it was nice to watch in the family room. They only supplied one garbage bag for the kitchen but we used our bags from grocery shopping when it filled up. Overall good house and location.

The location was great. The issues we had did not relate to the house itself, but more to the housekeeping and rental co. Those are (we’ve been told) going to be handled. Adorable and comfortable house. Close to the beach and bike paths.

Pleasant Stay

The proximity to the beach is great! Tennis was good but remember to book your clinics / private lessons before you arrive. Wish there was an outdoor shower or access to a pool (for the kids) but that did not detract from the enjoyable stay.
