"This hotel is situated on a main street and close to the exits from Umeda station and subway. There is a handy elevator from the subway exit to ground level and the hotel is about 100 m, so no need to struggle with cases. We couldnt find the hotel at first, but if you looked up, the name was emblazoned above the top floor. The entrance is down a small alley which is signposted and there is a 7/11 shop under the hotel. Check in was swift and friendly and the room was probably the most spacious we had in Japan. We had two really comfortable double beds, a spotlessly clean bathroom with all amenities and plenty of luggage space. Getting around Osaka was easy from the hotel due to the subway access, although the JR Lines are about a 20 to 30 minute walk through the subterranean maze of shops and restaurants in the station concourse. There are plenty of places to eat in the area. Breakfast was expensive, so we found nearby places to have breakfast. We had a great stay at the Monterey Le Frere hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it. "
