The hotel staff were very pleasant and always helpful. They knew just enough English for us to communicate what we needed. Breakfast was good and gave us one less meal to worry about. The laundry room can get crowded so you may want to plan ahead if you have an extended stay. Laundry unit were cash (100 yen only) as well

Great 3-night stay at Kyoto. Check-in was very smooth and the property was very clean and I liked the traditional tadami style. Location was very close to subway/bus and was easy to get to the major locations. Definitely recommend for visiting Kyoto.

Most comfortable 3-stars i ever had. My stay was 2 nights. It was a deluxe 2-bed room, and it felt like a 4-star hotel experience. Breakfast was amazing with Japanese cuisine and every day the breakfast was slightly different, which was exciting, there were many plant-based options as well. The lobby offers a wide range of amenities.

This hotel is (IMHO) perfectly average. Clean, safe, in an excellent location. Cons: They practice sustainable housekeeping so sheets are only changed every 3 days unless requested earlier. Windows require staff to open, they generally keep them locked closed because they're concerned about guests making too much noise for the neighbors. The attached restaurant is only open for breakfast and doesn't offer much besides bread. There aren't fans in the toilet rooms, so airflow can be a problem in there. There is laundry but there is not a pool, spa, or gym. Pros: Suites come with free Keurig coffee, staff is extremely kind and helpful, location was excellent for exploring Kyoto. Overall I would say that you could get more amenities for the same price than staying here, especially since the subway system is prolific and a lot of Kyoto is very walkable.

This was a great stay. Staff were so helpful and helped us book taxis. The rooms were so clean and I loved the look which was a more traditional style but still very modern which is exactly what we wanted in Kyoto. The location is so convenient to the subway and many bus routes. We walked from Kyoto main station with our bags. We would stay again!

This place has one of the biggest rooms, I was able to place my luggage open in the room which is rare in Japan. The toilet as separate from both bath and sink which is very convenient. Its just 5 mins walk from Gojo station and the bus stop.

The staff who checked us in gave us no information what so ever, we only got the card and basically moved up stairs lol. Aside from that, I saw the storage room on my floor was opened and some of the “cleaned” towels were thrown onto the ground before delivering to the room. Another thing is the laundry, it is basically non existent, there are supposed to be 4 of them but two were removed during our stay and one broke down, so the last remaining machine was constantly occupied and we had to wake up at 4AM to use it. Oh and the last part is the buffet breakfast, it is 1500 yen but with very limited options and teh food was basically instant food you get from convenience stores, but convenience stores are way cheaper and tasted better.
