Great location! Clean, comfortable, affordable

This was a great little fine. The location was fantastic right in the heart of Gion- one of the Geisha districts. It was easily a number of historic sites and temples, and a lot of great shopping and restaurants. The rooms were a little on the smaller size, but they were very clean and comfortable, and the rates were very affordable overall a good hotel in a great location.

Good hotel, caution in summer.

Clean; quiet, nice materials. The AC unit is weak, and they do not pre-cool the room, meaning that during the summer it’s uncomfortably hot when you arrive. To power the AC unit, you have to put your key inside. This means if you leave with your key for the day, it will be hot when you return since it’s not actively cooling. Friendly staff, clean, big by Kyoto standards. Would stay again. Ask for a second key, and just keep it in to run the air condition.

Hidden gem in Kyoto

Loved our stay here! Fantastic location. It is away from the very busy street but close enough to all the main attractions. The hotel was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. The rooms are more spacious than your typical Japan hotel. Our flight was very delayed and we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to check in, based on the hotels strict no check in after midnight policy. We were very grateful that staff waited for us to check in.
