The room was perfect and clean. Felt relaxed and at home. Outside was beautifully set up and it was wonderful being so close to nature right in the backyard. This place is a gem and we would definitely stay again!

Nice little place to stay, it’s not a big hotel. They even had a little Christmas tree on the table and decorations on the door. It was a very nice personal touch.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. It seemed like a portion of a converted garage. The outside of the building needed repair. The rusty radiators in the bathroom could use a coat of paint. There was no attendant to talk to - everything was done through E-mail and lock codes.

Karen,Thank you for your feedback. We do use all reviews as training and also a way to keep on top of facilities issues. The older carriage houses in Saranac Lake always need upkeep, and slowly we are working on it. Thank you for letting us know about the radiators- we shall add that to our list. Hopefully you will visit us again soon!

This motel reminds me of days of old when one would pull over to a place just to rest your head. Otherwise there is nothing unique or impressive about this place. The screen door reminded of the one that was on the backdoor of my grandmother's place. The bathroom is very small, with dim lighting. If one is looking for a place without any flare this will fit the bill....as long as you do not get on the owner's bad side. He has little idea of customer value. No worries, the place satisfied my needs and won't stay at The Bate's Motel again...ever.

Booked this site last minute to stay a extra day. Place was lovely,and pet friendly which was great. Our room was huge and clean and had great amenities in it.. Property situated buy a pond and right across from a little public park and very close to restaurants as well.We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and the view.Great place to stay.
