The caboose we stayed in did not look like the pictures. It was run down. It was older and smelled musty, spider webs in the bunk room and ceiling, There was a spider in my bed and a few bugs around so the kids wouldn’t sleep. It’s summer on a farm so it wouldn’t be a big deal if you are a camper. The windows had dead bugs and dirt around them. I spent a lot to stay there and maybe they should let visitors know they may get an old one.

If you want to stay in a memorable location, look no further than the Red Caboose Motel. The rooms are clean and offer many amenities on the property. They even have a petting zoo and offer buggy rides (for a fee). The restaurant served excellent food. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and to watch the Strasburg Rail Road trail travel by several times a day. I would highly recommend staying here.

The air conditioning units had mouse poop on the vent. When it was adjusted the poop went all over our stuff on the table.

We stay here every couple of years. The owners invest back into the property and are actively refreshing all the cabooses and farmhouse, inside and out. A great, unique place to stay for train lovers!

Listen, and I don’t wanna tear the place apart. If you’re really into trains, this might be the experience of a lifetime. I stayed there for work because it was inexpensive. I like staying in places that are different. But I would not stay here again. The sheets and linens were clean I guess. The carpet was not. The walls were not. The ceiling in the bathroom was not. Also, my train car was crooked so the whole time I thought I was going to roll out of the bed. It was literally crooked to the point where the toilet seat would not stay up by itself without holding it. The staff, however, were extremely friendly and very gracious.
