This house was very clean and had one of the most equipped kitchens Iâve ever had in a rental property. Former reviews were correct in that the gravel driveway was very steep and not in the best shape. It would be an issue in rain or snow. We would have loved to have had screens in the doors and windows. The weather was beautiful and we wished we could have enjoyed it more from inside the home. The wrap-around porch and outdoor fireplace were great! We were glad we brought our own firewood. A gas grill would have been appreciated. Overall, a great stay!
House was beautiful. Lots of space, secluded, very clean. There were 4 couples, we all had our own bedroom and bathroom. We really enjoyed the outside deck and fireplace.
The cabin has a pleasant design. There were 10 adults . As for the bedrooms; there were no tables or chairs in the basement . Everything went on the floor in the buck bed room. No curtains in the rooms in the basement. One bedroom had no recess window to escape in case of fire. As for all the bathrooms, there was only one small towel rack per bathroom. You need more. The basement toilet bowl is loose on the floor and the seat is loose. You do need a dehumidifier in the basement. We noticed black mold on the lower part of the bathroom door frame. There should be a railing on the stairs going to the basement. It was dangerous to carry the luggage down. We experienced brown water after loosing electricity. We have children that use well water. They have done so for 30 years and use filters and have never had brown water. We could have used more dish towels. A screen over the kitchen window would have been welcomed after cooking spaghetti. There should be pads on the dining room chair legs. They are scratching the beautiful wooden floor. The interior of the house was clean. The outside was terrible. The main porch as well as the porch off the bedrooms were dirty. Dirt and ash all over the floors.Pile of ash still in the fire place. The broom used to sweep the ash had half of the bristles burned off. There is a large burnt area on the floor which should be dressed. The floor needs some tender loving care. Some need to be refinished. Branches on the roof.
The cabin was beautiful, clean and just as described. We went with 3 other couples for a couples weekend retreat and there was plenty of space for everyone to come together when we wanted to, and to be able to have separate areas as well. And we LOVED and took full advantage of the outdoor fireplace for many laughs. The owners were very communicative and accommodating. The driveway was an adventure as described in previous reviews! A couple suggestions and feedback from the other couples would be king size pillows for the king beds and more than 2 per bed (we stole extras for the night from the bunk bed room since we didn't use it) and better quality cookware (guest made eggs and they stuck to the bottom of the pan) and the outdoor sofa and chair are falling apart.
Great cabin and great location! Perfect space for our family weekend getaway! The driveway is rugged. 4 wheel drive recommended to traverse the driveway.
Simply fantastic! This cabin had everything we needed and was just gorgeous! The deck is spacious and the outdoor fireplace was a huge hit. The teens loved the shuffleboard game and there was enough space for our multi generational party. Heed the advice on the driveway - itâs an adventure!
Our family enjoyed the spacious and clean cabin! Our kids loved the bunk bed room! The fireplace was a great place to relax and enjoy in the evenings. It was a perfect spot to explore the Hocking Hills area.
Wanted a big cabin for a family reunion so we could all stay together and enjoy family dinners. This cabin was perfect! Plenty of parking, nice bedroom selection for adults, multiple bathrooms for getting ready, big enough table for everyone to eat together, and multiple decks to enjoy the outdoors. My family loved our stay!
We had a great time hiking and taking in the sights in Hocking Hills. The cabin was perfect for our large family get together. It accommodated the adults, teens, and kids well. We really enjoyed the outdoor space with the fireplace. The driveway is steep but easy with AWD vehicles. We could have used a washer and dryer with the rain and muddy hikes but it was still a wonderful stay.
The driveway was scary. We had a four wheel drive and still almost got stuck. The cabin was very beautiful and we had a an amazing time while we were there. We got married in the cabin so the day will never be forgotten.
The cabin was nice, and well equipped. The set up was perfect for our group of 14. The only negatives were the driveway description, and the grills. The driveway would be 100% impossible in any snow at all, and even in non inclement weather, the driveway is in desperate need of repair. There were potholes 6 inches deep and 3 feet long. Also, there should be a propane grill on site. Otherwise, the stay and cabin were amazing.
Our extended family of 14 people enjoyed Overbrook Lodge. Very clean, spacious and modern cabin with comfy beds and a proximity to all that Hocking Hills has to offer. Plenty of space for the kids inside and outside the cabin. Beware that the drive is very steep. Would be happy to book again.
The property is as advertised. Private large cabin with a great set up for multiple couples or families. Cabin is clean and well equipped with everything you need for your stay.
