Nice hotel, comfortable beds etc but the front desk - there were 5 of them are cloth-eared - nice but dim probably expresses it best. We found only decaf coffee in our room so asked the desk for some plain coffee for our morning cuppa. None arrived so in the morning I went to the breakfast room and poured coffee for me and my wife and told the restaurant manager of the issue. He promised to inform the front desk and at 11am, some minutes before our departure, a couple of coffee bags arrived. Great hotel but if issues arise don't expect any resolution.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years and used to go to the bar some 17 years ago. Whilst the location and lobby area are great, the restaurant and bar are so terribly sad; lacking the merest hint of atmosphere or ambience. Such a waste.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was cleaned for the most part and housekeeping did a good job. I paid for breakfast before the hotel was transferred over to Riu, however I only experienced the breakfast once in the hotel and it was OK. I definitely feel like it was business friendly and for the most part it was extremely safe.

There are some very good things about the RIU, but there’s room for improvement. The staff at check-in were friendly and welcoming. The room itself, though super small, was well-appointed. The design was a bit odd - one enters the room through was is ostensibly the bath area. The toilet and shower are separated from the main area by stalls. There’s also a closet. It has a fine number of hangers, but the space for storing other items was poor (and there’s no place in the main room to do so). We had a very hard time figuring out which light switches were attached to the room’s various lights. We found the lighting and ventilation in the toilet and shower areas to be inadequate. Indeed, they were very dark, and the shower smelled musty. At one point a housekeeper attempted to enter the room without knocking first. After that, when in the room we always posted our “do not disturb” sign. The bed was super comfortable. Checkout was a breeze. The restaurant was great for breakfast. There was a wide array of options. However, we tried to eat dinner there one night, but the place seemed not open. We also tried to order room service but no one answered. We wound up going out instead. Given that the hotel is in a location where little is open in the evening, having to forage for food when we really wanted to stay at the hotel was irritating. For other than breakfast, I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant. All in all, the RIU is good. Not great, but good.

The staff here are a credit to the company, every single one of them has greeted us with a smile and positivity from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The hotel itself is beautiful, although a little bit dark in the hallways. The rooms are top class and very spacious. My only complaint is that the shower head was leaking over the ceiling and the amount of limescale build up was quite excessive. The bed is nice and firm, but my back is missing my own bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone staying in London,
