Lucky to book a room for 2 at the last minute with a great discount offer. Great location near the underground, with Tesco Express and M&S Food close by. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Only minor issue is the soundproofing – could hear noise from next door when my TV was off, but luckily my neighbours weren’t late sleepers. Overall, it’s a good place for a short stay within this budget. I might consider staying again if a similar offer comes up.

Well-located hotel. It's a bit old, and they don't offer a secure place to store lugagge (you may leave it at the front desk, but at your own risk.) It's got no lift and it could be more eco-friendly. Yet, I'd still recommend it because of its location.

Tiny but it works!

Nice, clean, and inexpensive - just my kind of accommodations. I was one of the lucky few whose flight was cancelled at Heathrow towards the end of March due to a fire. I jumped online to hotels.com and booked this quickly because all the hotels around Heathrow were full or now gouging people for rooms. Not this place. I booked the tiniest room I've ever stayed in. The single room I booked is not recommended for longer stays. There was barely room enough to stand next to the bed. My walk-in closet is bigger than this room. But you know what? It was clean, quiet, and for one night, considering the circumstances, it worked. I can't speak for the bigger rooms. Good job, Notting Hill Gate!

This is an outstanding option for a budget stay in Kensington. Yes, the rooms are very small, but perfectly habitable with nice bed, bathroom and very friendly staff. And it's so, so cheap. Basically if your focus is on being in central London and you don't mind a hotel that's not too fancy, you can't do much better than this!

The Cleanness at the -1 level next to the kitchen is not as per health and safety. I will not suggest anyone to get the room number 1-4 due the unwanted items lying around.

I was warned my single person room might be small, but had no idea that I'd be spending the night in a cupboard. It had all the facilities you'd expect, bed, bedside cabinet, kettle, tea making, telephone, TV, toilet, shower, free standing plug in radiator, wall mounted fan that you'd need to climb on the bed to reach, clean bedding and towels. But you could hardly open the door to get in, I stored my one small case in the shower, I could barely use the toilet it was so cramped next to the sink. Nowhere to put clothes other than 4 door hooks and 2 tiny bedside cabinet drawers. How this passes the law as a hotel room is beyond me. I've never slept in a cupboard before and didn't last night. I nearly fell out of the small bed onto the hardwood floor and lost the one sheet and bed throw numerous times. I couldn't shower as it was too high and too small to fit in. Thank goodness it was only for one night. There was no breakfast room or even anywhere to sit other than on the bed in my "room" I mean cupboard, and the kitchen was another "cupboard" with microwave and fridge. This was cheap yes only £75 per night, but it was worth £25. Never, never again. Be warned if you book here, when they say small 1-bed room they mean converted cupboard.

Uncomfortable hotel, but well placed

The stairs are too narrow, no elevator, so walking to the 4th floor with luggage may be a challenge. Also, the room size is really tiny, our room was for 3 people, but just two of us had difficulty moving around. The furniture is very old and damaged. Double bed is actually a 1.5 person bed with 180cm long, so for taller people, you most likely will be "touching" a kettler sitting on a small table between beds. There is no chair or table in the room and no where to hang the jacket or coat.

Nice property for the price. The rooms are very small and there are a lot of stairs. If that is an issue I imagine you can request a room on a lower floor. I was greeted kindly and the room was clean and cozy. Great location. I would stay again for a short stay.

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms inc air conditioning / heating units No lift so if you get rooms on the upper floors, make sure you can comfortably carry your bags / cases as it’s an old but lovely and well maintained character property
