No frills, has all the basics, and is in a very convenient location for the area. Service has been consistent, and recommend this hotel if you’re trying to save a few dollars compared to the hotels nearby.

Great location! Walkable to so many restaurants, shopping and the pier. Staff were great and beds were comfortable. Older hotel. A little loud at night, but expected. I would stay here again

Awesome place to stay. It’s old and the hallways are quite dirty, but the staff is super nice, the location is ideal, and it’s perfect for a value stay in Santa Monica!

Hotel Carmel is in a great location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our short stay; however, I don’t feel it meets the standard of a 3-star hotel and found it to be overpriced. The property is quite run-down and outdated, with an odd smell throughout, making it feel closer to a 2-star experience. It’s not a terrible place to stay, but the pricing should more accurately reflect the condition and overall offering of the hotel.

Rooms are soo beat up and dirty ! Elevator has to be constantly reset my daughter in law was stuck in it for 20 min they were so rude !! Please avoid this very old building pained over like a land lord special !

Place was conveniently places, near the Santa Monica Bridge, dining, and shopping. It was clean. The staff were polite, nice, & helpful. Would recommend for a stay.
