horrible Honeymoon experience

This was my first trip to Los Cabos Mexico. People rant and rave over this location! Unfortunately, it's probably before the hurricane! This was our honeymoon vacation! We had the honeymoon suit, which was beautiful. Although, we were woken up by construction every morning and a family of kids running around right above us. When we arrived we specifically mentioned it was our Honeymoon. Sad to say, but there was nothing done for us that made it special!!!! Just a regular all inclusive. We heard Others had a honeymoon banner on the door and a bottle of champagne as they were welcomed to their suit, which they had forgot to give us. Only after we complained was something done about it. ( after we heard by other couples 5 days later!) The lady at the front dest (Nora) was supposed to get back to us about activities, and special events we could be part of- but my husband and I never were notified. Some days our room wasn't cleaned. The Beds weren't made and towels weren't replaced. We had to call and ask them to send someone to clean up the room and remove the old towels and dishes that were left overnight. The restaurants were not fully staffed ( cooks on their cells while cooking) and the French restaurant still is not opened. The only decent restaurant was the Italian one "Portofino", but even that was hit or miss. The sea bass was cooked like leather! It is Not as they advertise "gourmet" cooking! This is a very older Dreams resort. The resort is clean and nice. I’m sure due to the pandemic they are short staffed and you will wait for things. The food was very disappointing and cold. The room service was ok. The entertainment was mediocre. The pools were nice and very clean. The beach was off limits and you can swim at your own risk the current was strong. The bars were disappointing and drinks watered down.

Oh boy…where do I begin…I had a vivid image online of the luxurious 5 star resort, Dreams Los Cabos Golf Resort and Spa, but after I checked in at 3pm I finally settled into a semi-clean room 5 hours later. I was shown 3 rooms before finally settling into a 4th on my 1st night. I refused to stay in the 1st 3 rooms due to difficulty accessing room due to a swollen stuck door, ripped curtain, unclean rooms, flooded room and corridor, a lizard on bathroom counter, no hot water or A/C. One of the resort managers was understanding and admitted she could not blame the unsanitary conditions of the rooms solely on a hurricane that hit 2 days before my arrival. She upgraded me to an ocean view room and agreed to provide me with a refund. I had A/C in the upgraded room but still no hot water. I did not sleep soundly over the next 2 nights because whenever the waves broke on the beach, the sliding door to my bedroom will rattle and vibrate violently. This occurred every 2 minutes throughout the night. I did not bother complaining about this since I knew I was checking out soon. Food was not good at the grill near the pool. Selections were poor so I ate French Fries almost every day. There were 2 other restaurants, which were OK. Overall, Dreams Los Cabos Gulf Resort and Spa turned out to be a Nightmare! Based on the above, I did not have a good vacation, in fact I wasted my limited vacation days and lost money on a round trip plane ticket. I do not recommend this resort!
