A nice family vacation

Pros: The staff, the swim up bar and the beach. Big bathrooms with a walk-in shower was a plus. Great air conditioning in our room too.
Cons: Hotel is fairly dated but is well kept. Could use a face lift here and there. Food quality was hit and miss in the Solaris Cafe, but was OK.
Location: Shopping area in San Jose Del Cabo is 15 minutes by foot. Instead, we booked a Cabo San Lucas dinner cruise at the hotel via Expedia rep. Great time!
My family and I enjoyed our 5 day visit to this all-inclusive property. The staff was great on many levels. Not the nicest or newest place, but it worked very well within our budget. We highly recommend buying a round trip shuttle deal from the airport. The hotel can help you arrange it well in advance of your arrival.

Pros: The staff and the spa were very good.
Cons: The hotel needs lots of repairs and updating. It is glued together, everywhere you look. The rooms are very basic and not updated. The food is bad.
Location: It is a very nice area around the hotel.
We went on a senior trip for kids. The kids loved the activities and we enjoyed the relaxation of being at a resort. The entire property is falling apart and needs a lot of repair. The rooms are basic and old, the food is bad. The pool area is nice and the staff is great! The beach is beautiful from afar but you cannot get in the water at all. It is very dangerous but interesting to watch such big waves.

Staff was Excellent!

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Don't ask so many times to go on the tour of the resort.
Location: Location was great. Everything we needed was in walking distance of the resort. Felt very safe walking. Taxi or shuttle to Cabo if needed.
Great hotel, food and room. Favorite restaurant on resort would be Poncho's. Outstanding help in the travel center for excursions. I cannot say enough about the hard working, dedicated entertaining staff that this hotel has. They were all so nice, accommodating, kept the excitement in the air and worked their butts off. They not only entertained during the day by the pool, they then went and put on elaborate shows in the evening and then moved to the lobby bar/dance floor and kept it going late. They made this vacation for us, especially Omar N. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be back soon.

Great value

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Dinner was hit or miss. But breakfast and lunch great
Location: Visit downtown San Jose Del Cabo
We loved the hotel, had not been there for over 10 years. Very clean friendly staff. Omar Guzman was great. He took care of all our needs. Especially liked Josue at breakfast on the outside patio. I can't remember all the names. We liked Palma at Panchos. We really didn't meet anyone that was anything but polite and friendly. If you take the bus into town try Shooters, and Tropicana for seafood enchiladas. Great.

Mehh! There are better- BEWARE TRAVEL CLUB SCAM!'

It was OK but far from spectacular! WARNING: Don't get pulled into World Vacation Network Presentation- A scam- Google it. Said would be 90 min, turned into 3 hour pressure sell for $14k investment that might offer a 10-15% saving- HOTEL WILL OFFER SEVERAL DISCOUNTS FORVYOU TO ATTEND- NOT WORTH IT! Pros: More family friendly not as many spring breakers as others. Staff was friendly, had an issue with theft that was very equitably resolved (PUT ALL VALUABLES IN SAFE!) My hotel concierge - Iker - was very nice. Nice young children area and overall was fairly well maintained. Don't pay for special pirate or festival dinners! CONS: Older and small resort, food was mediocre to OK at best, service st Marco Polo was terrible and food not really much different than buffets. Cleaning of room was mediocre. Workout room was horrific, filthy dirty old decrepit equipment- what there was, hot smelly and small, would hate to have a forensic team in there! Alcohol was lowest of quality for non premier members. PRICE was more reasonable than others looked at so I guess you get what you pay for. Would recommend sail boat tour with snorkeling about $100 each but try to negotiate MUST REITERATE- Steer clear of Vacation club scam.

No problems at all!!

Pros: everyone was very professional, prompt and efficient
Location: convenient to walk into town by the mercado and town center. Farmica's across the street along with nice restaurants and coffee shops.
Check in was a breeze, room ready on time. beautiful balcony view of the ocean. Bed was fine, not overly comfortable, but was not an issue. No tub if that bothers you. Shower had awesome pressure! Plenty of towels and a hairdryer and magnifying make up mirror. We ordered room service once because unfortunately we managed to catch the flu! It was the flu, no problems with food or water!!! Room service was very fast. $5 delivery charge, that's it!! Buffet has good food, nothing fabulous, but edible. Seems to be a lot of the same stuff everyday, not a ton of variety. The drink varieties make up for the food. They have a drink menu of like 30 different poolside drinks - all were very good! Plenty of pool chairs and beach chairs. You can go into the ocean up to your waist only due to sharp drop off, but that drop off also brings in good whale watching. They were so close to the beach, amazing to see. Nice evening shows, Michael Jackson tribute was surprisingly good. The resort is not huge, most of the outdoors stuff is in one general area. The hotel is u-shaped and the center of the 'u' is the pool/bar/restaurant areas. Nice beach for walks. Gym for working out and a hot tub. Everyone was very attentive and prompt if something was needed. Several english channels, mainly HBO movie channels but was sufficient. Never once were we asked about a timeshare, we never even heard the word! Restaurants were easy to reserve, call early, no issues.

Mother & Daughter trip!

Surprised my daughter on her reading week break from University. She loved Mexico and had an amazing time watching Whales frolic free in their natural habitat. The hotel was nice but could use some updates to the gym. The sides of the building that face out to adjacent hotels need to be cleaned up, u can see garbage from your balcony which isn't nice!

Still friendly after all these years

Pros: Pancho's, Monte Carlo, breakfast, drink service, friendly staff, sunrises and sunsets, the beach
Cons: Availability of food for lunch. We found the pool lounge chairs the most uncomfortable we've ever tried to use.
Location: The equivalent of drug stores across the street, not much else.
We visited during a politically inopportune time, but the staff was wonderful. We had a bit of cool, windy weather that restricted outdoor activities but we knew that about January. I read all the comments about members being treated better. It didn't bother us at all. No, you wouldn't want to swim there unless you are a strong swimmer. I didn't see anyone in the water, but the beach was nice. There's really nothing to do nearby so you will want to book an activity. We just relaxed and tried to avoid the news. The specialty restaurants, whose menus change daily, are great, and all over the hotel they keep the drinks coming. Ordering Spanish coffee, made with A fiery flourish each evening in the lobby, is a must.

Excellent vacation

Pros: Resort location, cleanliness, great beach, nice lounge chairs, good drinks, great nighttime entertainment, decent food, awesome breakfast options.
Cons: The basic buffet food options are nothing spectacular. Not bad, just not great.
Location: Great location with wonderful beach. Nice mall across the road with good food options. Highly recommend going downtown to La Dolce Italian restaurant.
First off, I've been to lots of different resorts over the years so I can do an accurate comparison. This hotel was worth every penny I spent. It is beautifully kept up, the beach was immaculate, the staff was super friendly, it is well located, the room was very comfortable and I would go back there in a heartbeat. The breakfast was delicious every day with two omellette stations, fresh pancakes and donuts made all the time. I only ate at the lunch buffet or dinner buffet once each as we did the fresh, homemade pizzas at the beach each day for lunch and then ate out on the town for dinner two nights. Loved the ice cream they let you self serve every day at the lunch buffet area. The hotel has entertainment every night in the bar lobby and lots of people dance and have fun. The Michael Jackson review was really well done considering it is HOTEL entertainment. Don't expect Broadway, but for a hotel to put on such a show was really super well done, especially the video portion of it. The drinks were all really good and although not top shelf liquour, which I did NOT expect for the price, they were plentiful and there was hardly a wait at the bars. Usually NO wait and the waitstaff on the beach kept them coming freely. Give them a bit of a tip, and they will REALLY wait on you hand and foot. We also ate at the Marco Polo restaurant there on their French night and their Italian night. French night was much better. Also, order bacon at breakfast from your server! SO good!
