Waterfront Beach House close to everything!
*PLEASE NOTE* ***This yearsâ annual dry dock has been announced and it will be APRIL 26th-MAY11th. This means we will have a pedestrian only ferry during this time. Our cottage is a short walk to the ferry so youâre welcome to park on the mainland and walk across, but it inhibits your ability to drive on for your stay. ***This charming, historic, and beautifully appointed beachfront house features two bedrooms (one room with an attached bath has a Queen bed and another room with a single bed) and sleeps three. The cottage is stocked with everything you will need for an easy getaway. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the breathtaking views of Mt. Baker and the Sisters, watch the ferry, the Whatcom Chief, sail back and forth, take a soak in the deep tub, read by the fireplace, put your kayak in the water, and adventure, or go for a bike ride or hike. You will find yourself within walking distance of the local Beach Store Cafe (just across the street but please check the website to see hours of operation as they are limited), and the local grocery store. Conveniently located only a five-minute walk to the ferry and on the picturesque 7-mile loop which is great for walking and bike riding. Despite the proximity to Vancouver BC and Seattle, Lummi Island feels like it is a 'world away'. The Beach House was built in 1933 and has a long history on Lummi Island, and at one time served as the local library. With a complete Sunset Magazine-worthy remodel couldn't be sweeter.
Very cozy beach house for two, and there is a single bed in the other small bedroom. Nicely decorated and the view towards Bellingham and Mt Baker canât be beat.
Iâm generally not a relaxing vacation gal, more of a do it alllll person, but dang if I did not FULLY RELAX at this adorable Lummi Beach House. Itâs exactly perfect in every way. Gorgeous views, nice little rocky beach to explore, comfy couch and insanely comfy bed, huge bathtub with a lovely view, great little kitchen if you want to cook at home, fantastic little deck, walkable to ferry, market and Beach Store Cafe annnnd dog friendly!! Weâd love to come back.
A perfect place to stay! We loved the coziness and the views, and it was ideal for lazy mornings and recuperating after hiking. Also great that it was so close to the ferry. It was our first visit to Lummi and we'll definitely be back. Communication was terrific!
This cottage gives you a real cottage experience with beautiful views from the back porch. Watching the ferry go back and forth and listening to the seagulls as you enjoy the backdrop of snow covered Mt Baker. Very relaxing few days.
Check was good, loved the view and cabin is well equipped. Nice and clean. Living room rug is a bit too easy to trip on. We loved the cabin and our stay on Lummi.
A cozy, charming cottage with all the comforts of home. We especially loved the generous deck with its morning sun and gorgeous views of the water. The perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. Weâll be back!
Peaceful, quiet, tranquil, charming and great view! Would definitely stay again. A few light bulbs need to be replaced and some dusting needs to be done, but Iâm a little ocd when it comes to cleaning!
Absolutely amazing location to relax, watch the ferries and other marine traffic, and observe the wildlife. Many sightings of eagles including one that crossed right by the D.R. window!
Our family stays here every year on or near Easter weekend. Itâs our harbinger of spring arriving to the PNW! Angie is an excellent and responsive host. The cottage continues to be a cozy and welcoming gem.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The view is fantastic. I could sit and look out the window all day long, as the scenery is always changing. Mt. Baker and the Sisters came out beautifully on our last day. The sunrise is spectacular, and it is somehow comforting (I don't know why) to see the reliable Whatcom Chief crossing back and forth. The only slight snag was when the fireplace pilot went out due to a very windy few hours. I texted the host and she got back to me immediately with instructions for lighting the pilot, and it was up and running right away. She even dashed over with an extra space heater. The house is absolutely charming, it has everything you need, and we would definitely stay there again.
This was our second stay at this historic property, the former library on secluded Lummi Island. When its clear you'll look out the picture window in the living room and see a perfectly framed view of Mt Baker in the distance. When it's cloudy you'll still enjoy inspiring views of the water (Hale Passage), the birds, the trees on the Lummi Reservation, and the little ferry that chugs back and forth daily, serving the island. With only one small grocery store, you'll want to plan ahead for your meals. The fabulous Beach Cafe offers epicurean delights (really!) but is only open Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening.
The beach house was perfect for a wonderful sisters time together, needing self-care and a place to rest. The house was equipped, clean with excellent view. We enjoyed the back deck and the gorgeous living room window with perfect picture views of Mount Baker. and Salish sea. The ferry ride over was quick and easy as well as coming back.
