The hotel is fine to look at and well situated but rooms are not well insulated from each other, e.g. hearing people above walking around.

The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Manchester, and pretty nice. The room itself was fine, enough for a short stopover. It is facing the bus station so it can be a bit noisy, but it didn't bother me too much at all. The drawbacks: a socket (normal plug or USB) would be great by the bed. I arrived around 9.30 and there was only one staff member at the counter, meaning I had to wait for some time before the previous guests were servered.

Almost refused to honour our booking due to my Wife being unable to find her ID, had to walk 10 mins back to the car in the rain for it as without a photo ID for EVERY guest they simply will turn you away...despite the booking being in my name for 2 guests. Brilliant how British people cant even stay in hotels in Britain without photo ID isnt it? The staff member was rude, and the rooms were awful with stained and cracked ceilings/walls with decor that must be 30 years old. Couldnt get hot water from the shower in the morning either. £207 for Saturday night. Lovely

AVOID THIS AWFUL HOTEL.

This is a lovely old building, but the hotel inside is awful. I was booked into a "executive room" - the reality was it was a very less than basic double room. On arrival I could hear the couple in the adjacent room having sex. At night there is some sort of nightclub either below or adjacent, so loud booming music until gone 3am. In the morning, no hot water, so no shower available. At least I could boil a kettle of water and have a wash in the sink. I reported this and was told there are no maintenance staff on a Sunday, but somebody came to check that the hot water was not working. I asked what should I do for a shower to be told they have no idea. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Definitely not worth the money

Like the unique architecture of the building. Breakfast was good and the attached bar did a fab Burger & pint. However! The room allocated felt like it’d been repurposed from offices/function hall of the like. Was informed it was windowless & wouldn't have been a prob. if the A/C worked. Was far too hot to sleep. Also, every single floorboard creaked and groaned as one walked around the room. The corridor outside the room was only a little better, exasperated by other inconsiderate stayers. Some signs there might have helped.

Its a good hotel for the price stayed a few times always good. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Hotel is in a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants around. Plenty of car parking close by.
