On arrival neither staff member greeted us just pointed at self checkin booked a room with a king size bed this was the most uncomfortable night's sleep this was two single beds pushed together with a velcro cover over the top so you didn't notice. When you use the shower the floor around the toilet area also got wet due all being in one space with no separation just a shower curtain that did nothing to stop the water

To describe it as awful is an understatement. No pressure in shower, couldnt be attended to as weekend. Offered another room, very much a downsize on what I paid for. Bathroom is very, very small. Towels only changed on request, and that was with an attitude. Never, ever again.

Friendly staff. Room was a nice size. But needed upkeeping. Over head bench lights weren’t working then they were. Rangehood was falling down on one side and lights didn’t work. All blind cords weren’t secured. Dishwasher draw stuck and hard to open. No plug for the sink. Toilet seat had what looked like blood on it. Shower drain stunk. Shower pressure was terrible. Thought i’d be helpful and strip our bedding upon leaving and was disgusted by the staining on pillow protecters and mattress cover. They clearly need to be changed more often. If the cleaners were able to clean and have maintenance done in the rooms I’m sure it would be appreciated by all guests. Maybe time is a factor for them? Rooms aren’t for the light sleepers. Outside laneway noise is a lot.

Room was nice and quite, and large. The bathroom was smaller then i thought. If i had of realised the room didnt windows looking out onto the street only windows looking onto the corridor i may not have booked. Not having windows made it hard to know if it was dark or light. The staff were friendly. The Oaks is a short walk from southern c Cross station and close to the tram stop on collins street. There was a few steps to get to the lifts but there is a lift for wheel chair ir if you have mobility issues, with the mobility lift you have to push a buzzer for the staff so you can use it. Given the location i would stay here again but book a room with a view
