Apartment in historic farmhouse
Apartment attached to a 200 year old farmhouse with views of the river, gardens, and our sweet farm animals. Only 20 minutes to Burlington and close to ski areas and bike paths. Porch on front and back with comfy seating area. We offer a grill, fire pit, and an outdoor pizza oven. Private access to the river for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. Private yoga classes available on the docks or in the gardens. If you are looking for comfort and tranquility this is the property for you.
The apartment is a lovely blend of quaint and convenient. Tranquil setting w goats, chickens, gardens, and lots of birds at numerous feeders. Decor is tasteful, bed is excellent, towels are plush, both AC and heat work well, kitchenware is very nice, PLUS the place is well-stocked with everything from Q-tips to a worthy collection of great books. In all, it was great although I would have preferred a more meticulous and deeper clean before my arrival.
Property was very clean and well appointed. Loved the small details (plenty of paper products, starter of coffee, toiletries, etc.). The bed was comfortable. Only negative was that it was warm. The sole A/C was a window unit in the bedroom, so the living area was quite hot. We were there during a heat wave in August, so this may not be a typical issue.
We really enjoyed our stay at this charming old farmhouse right on the river. The place was cozy, personable, and full of rustic charm, with the quiet country setting making it easy to relax and unwind. Our host, Chad, was friendly and accommodatingâwe enjoyed seeing him each morning. The location was convenient too, with groceries less than 10 minutes away. The kitchen had the basics, and I even learned how to make coffee with a French press (highly recommend future guests give it a try!). A wonderful country escape that weâd happily return to.
Nice clean, well equipped apartment. Right across the street from a private dock on the Lamoille River. The 3 large goats on the property provided some wonderful comic relief.
Things we enjoyed during our stay:- Beautiful back view of goat pen. Cute hens roam around the farm.- Pleasant table and kitchen areas, with plenty popular/famous books to read.- Consistent quiet.- Good location for visiting tourist spots; close to I-89 and less than 30 min from Burlington.- The property owners were very nice during our brief interactions and didn't impose at all.- Cleanup at the end of our stay was simple.Details for future visitor to consider:- The well water which can smell/taste off-putting to the unacclimated (like us). If you're used to city water, I suggest bringing a water filter or bottled water to drink.- The bathroom door is a permeable slatted door just in front of the bed. While my partner and I are close, we still appreciate a standard level of privacy in the bathroom and would have preferred a more sound/sight blocking door.Things the host may want to consider:- It seems that the couch needs a vacuum and stain check/removal in between guests. Upon our arrival, there were questionable white stains on the left seat cushion (see picture) which could not be removed with a wet paper towel. There was also a mixture of pet hair/lint/crumbs on the couch that we tried to clean off.- The shower could use a bath mat. The shower rim appears to be accumulating some mold due to water runoff during use (see picture). We laid down a towel on the ground while using the shower to try to mitigate puddles accumulating.
Really beautiful property, especially if you like wild birds and watching their chickens and goats. Tidy little apartment had all we needed. Very approachable hosts.
