Country Country is a lovely, small resort - so much more charming than most of the places I passed on the beach. And the staff are really friendly and eager to make sure that your stay is enjoyable. Special shout out to Deirdre-Ann who worked hard to accommodate my need for a room closer to the beach and Monique who went out of her way to help me extend my stay.
It would be great if there were screens on at least some of the windows in each room/suite so that in the daytime you can have some light in your room, without fearing mosquitos. As it is, there are just shutters. This would be more of a problem in heavy mosquito season. They do have mosquito nets for the beds if you ask, however.
It's important to note that this is a party beach - which perhaps I should have known, but didn't see mentioned in any of the reviews...and that Margaritaville, which is just a few hundred yards down the beach has loud music playing, not just on Friday nights into the early hours (which I was advised about prior to my arrival) but every day from late morning onwards. I wished I could have picked up the resort and moved it further north or south on the beach!
This didn't bother most people I talked with, so unless you are looking for peace and quiet, this place is really lovely. One note: the trip to the airport (Montego Bay) is about 2 hours and not the 90 minutes stated on the website.
