2/10 Terrible
Judy, STERLING HEIGHTS

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. I emailed the hotel management with the following request and have not heard back. I also reported it to Travelocity which was also unable to reach hotel. This is what I wrote:
"I chose your hotel because of its great reviews on Travelocity. Indeed, the room was very clean and quiet, and your staff members were amazing. That being said, the facilities were terrible.
"First, the room heater didn't work. Your staff promptly brought a space heater to the room, but because it would've been a fire safety hazard to leave it on when we were out, we came back to a cold room and had to wait for it to heat up every time we arrived. I was also not happy about leaving it on all night also because of fire safety, but there was little I could do given that the wall unit was not repaired during our stay.
"Second, the elevators both shut down within the first 24 hours of our stay. I had to walk up to the 17th floor. Ridiculous. One was never repaired during our stay, and because there was only one elevator to be shared by staff and other guests, one of my wait times to take the elevator to the 1st floor was nearly 10 minutes.
"Finally, you were clearly short-staffed. It took 30 minutes to check in, and another 20 minutes to check our bags for holding on our last day."
A posttrip search found this on The National Fire Protection Association's website: "Remember to turn portable heaters off when leaving a room or going to bed."
