Just rented this little beauty in Newberry. The house can easily sleep 11. There are 2 bedrooms in the lower level with a full bath, kitchen, 2 queen beds and 2 tv's. My only issue was it was a bit chilly down there, but my buddy loved the cooler temp for sleeping.The upstairs also has 2 bedrooms. One had 2 twin beds, the other a double and 2 twins. The master is on the main floor.All beds were VERY comfortable.We had rain a few days while there, but the beautiful deep, wrap around porch allowed us to hang outside enjoying the view, while staying completely dry.It's a bit of a rough walk for us older folks to get to Lake Superior - a hilly dune and a steep incline up Muskallonge Trail to get back to the house, but it was well worth it. Gorgeous beach with plenty of rocks to keep any enthusiast busy all day with crystal clear water - great for swimming !!Only downside, we couldn't find any cleaning products to clean the counters and my friends were bummed there was no coffee.

Lovely property

A well equipped modern log cabin perfect for a family or largish group. Plenty of space and well appointed bed and bathrooms. WiFi was very good. Easy access to two lakes including Lake Superior. Don’t miss the sunsets. First time visit to the U.P. Glad we had most of our provisions with us Thanks for a great stay.

Annual Family Vacation

This is my families 2nd summer staying at this cabin. It truly is a 5 star rental and offers everything you need. We love having Lake Superior and a Lake Muskallonge within walking distance. We will likely make next June our 3rd year in a row here. Thanks for everything!!

Nice getaway near the lakes

The cabin was very nice, clean and big enough for our party of 7 people. Loved the large table that was big enough for everyone. The location was perfect as it was never more than 1 to 1 1/2 hour drives to the places we wanted to see. The short walk to Lake Superior from the cabin was less than 5 minutes and the beach and views were spectacular! Absolutely loved the UP and will probably be back someday.

The house and location are great! There is a large amount of ATV, and fire trails that were very rideable even with the low snow and the main trail system shut down. Any other location we would have gone to would have required us trailering to the snow.

This home was so nice to stay in. We had 2 families and plenty of space for everyone. Having 2 lakes walking distance is great. Well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Beautiful Home

We really enjoyed our stay. I do wish the listing was a bit more clear. It would have been nice to see pictures of the bedrooms. We also felt that there were not clear directions to the home. (Maps took us near, but not to the home.) Thankfully, a neighbor staying down from us knew where the home was located. Overall, the stay was great. The home was nice, clean, and perfect for a family or group that wants to unwind and unplug.

Summer Vacation

My family and I have rented a VRBO every June for years, from Florida, Tennessee and Ohio. They have all been great, but this year our cabin in the UP was by far the cleanest and best stocked of all the places we’ve rented! Amazing vacation and cabin.

Beautiful log home and surroundings that met the needs of our group. We’ll appointed kitchen and comfy bedding. We will rent again for our next trip. Not a fan of the VRBO policy of holding on to the entire payment when booking up to a year in advance tho.

The only bad experience we had was the door did not open with the automatic lock. Good thing we found a key hidden when we first got there. And there was a sewer smell outside of the house. Other house otherwise the house was great

Really nice cabin in the woods

We really enjoyed our stay here. The area was quiet and the house was perfect for our group of 7 adults and one kid. The owner was very responsive to some questions we had prior to our arrival. Very close to Muskallonge lake and Lake Superior, and within riding distance to miles and miles of trails if you have an ATV in tow. I would definitely reccomend staying here.

Just Right

We rented this cabin for an annual snowmobile trip. The cabin is the perfect size, has an excellent location, and has a rustic charm that makes it the ideal getaway. My wife and I continue to discuss having/building a place in U.P. and if we ever pull the trigger, the cabin serves as an example of what we would want. The cabin has several bedrooms in different locations for allowing plenty of privacy. The mattresses were all pillow tops and were first-rate when it comes to comfort. Even though we only used the one, there were several televisions throughout for various viewing options. The Ping-Pong table in the basement kept the child and older folks happy. We did have a severe winter storm going into Saturday morning that knocked out the power and Tony was very responsive in helping navigate us through connecting the generator and bringing the water back online. This was vital due to the older folks. The power was only out for a short period but having the generator as a backup was key for ensuring their piece of mind. Kudos to Cloverland Electric Cooperative for the fast restoration time. The cabin always had heat due to the gas fireplace. The only issue has nothing to do with the host or the cabin. Please do not attempt to enter Muscalonge Trail in the winter with a large trailer if you have any doubts in being able to make it. The cabin is in an area that has plenty of parking for larger trailers. Vehicles with no or small to mid-size trailers will have no issues. Another renter ended up blocking the Deere Park Road for several hours causing us to look at detouring around them. As a result, as well as my own stupidity, I ended up cracking the windshield on my snowmobile. Other than the cracked windshield, it was a great trip. We would do it again now that we are familiar with the area and its proximity to various attractions such as Crisp Point, Tahquamenon Falls, Grand Maria, and others. The cabin was very nice, well equipped and the communication with the host was top notch.

Amazing Thanksgiving Get-Away

This house is the perfect place to take your family for a vacation. We had an absolutely phenomenal time over Thanksgiving playing ping pong, taking walks on Lake Superior beach, and just watching the blue birds at the bird feeder from the kitchen table. The owners were wonderful and we will definitely recommend this property to others and stay here again (hopefully soon).

Our stay at this log home was wonderful. Would stay again! More space than the listing describes with enough for 6 in just the upstairs bedrooms alone plus 3 other queen beds. The basement has 2 rooms both with queen beds and 1 shared bathroom that is in one of the bedrooms. House is gorgeous to say the least and fully stocked with most everything you need for cooking. We used the Traeger BBQ/Smoker often. Kids loved the ping pong table in the basement which was an added bonus. Like mentioned in one of the other reviews it was unclear as to where to access the lakes. We were able to find out where to go on Lake Muskallonge because we went to the State Park and the employee working the office had family who recently stayed in one of the cabins close to the lake. He filled us in on the details of being able to use the new deck that was built as well as the dock. We used the State Park public launch to get onto Lake Muskallonge with our 20ft boat. Nice launch but we did not do much on the lake boating wise because it’s all pretty shallow. To access Lake Superior near the house we used the State Park lake access which is about a mile from the house. This is not a boat launch just a place to access the beach on foot. I did send an email through VRBO asking for some specific detail on the lake access but never heard back. It was also unclear on what to do with our trash and if there where any specific checkout instructions. We didn’t have any direct information on who to contact if we had any major issues but luckily we did not have any major issues. We assumed that the large dumpster at the end of the road was where we should put trash so that’s what we did. We stripped the beds and left the house as clean as we could. It’s been almost a full day since we left and we have not heard anything so that must be all that was expected. That all being said, other than wanting some helpful details this rental was ideal for us. Lake Superior and all of its surrounding attractions did not disappoint. We visited Taquahmanon Falls, Kitchitikipi, Munising and Grand Marais. We hiked a lot. We’re able to see 10 beautiful waterfalls. Watched the meteor shower on the beach of Lake Superior. It was a family vacation we will cherish forever and this home away from home was just about perfect!

Beautiful House and Property with NO Communication from Property Owner

The house and grounds are gorgeous! The house is well stocked, was clean, and absolutely stunning. There were 6 adults - 3 sisters and their husbands, so the 3 floors worked well for our group. There was no view of, nor direct access to, the lakes, although the description indicates there is. My husband and I have had the opportunity to stay at other Vrbo properties, and there are always written instructions for check-out and area information, etc. This property does not offer any. One member of our group would have appreciated instructions and a channel guide to the TVs. I emailed the property owner prior to our arrival, twice while we were there, and called him once and left a voicemail. I did not receive a response to any of these. We could not connect to the Wi-Fi or access the internet at all during our stay. This was concerning as our daughter is expecting and has had some complications that worried us with having absolutely no way of communicating unless we went into a town. Again, the house and grounds are beautiful, and if you're looking to be completely off the grid, this is the place for you!

Great Stay!

The cabin is very well furnished from top to bottom. It was a very nice retreat for our family of 5 with larger spaces and bedrooms than shown on the listing. The location is a beautiful setting. It was difficult to find access to the either lake without disrupting neighbors. I would definitely rent this again and recommend it to others. Thanks for sharing your lovely cabin.

Beautiful property- UTV Rider's Dream

The property was immaculate when we arrived. Lots of "nice to haves" including a blender, slow cooker, electric grill, spices, etc. The towels were super soft and the my husband ordered the same comforter (he liked it so much) before we even left. We brought our UTVs and rode some amazing trails! We found greats stops, hiking trails, and loved exploring the area. The only area that was unclear to me when booking was the lake access (still a little unclear on the Lake Superior side). The lake access is shared with other cabins (same owner). Honestly, it was weird at first because it felt like we were in their backyard in order to access the lake. However, the two couples staying there were amazing! They were UTVing as well. We even went riding with them one day as they have been coming to this area for years and showed us around. Our kids would run down the lane and see if "the neighbors" were outside. They actually added to our trip (who knew). Just not sure everyone will be that lucky. We loved the cabin, it was perfect for our two families! Truly enjoyed our vacation and accommodations, and the extra little touches went a long way!
