New River Gorge Home | Fire Pit, Fenced Yard | Pet-Friendly Basecamp, WV

Entire home. 3 bedrooms. Sleeps up to 8 (ideal for 4–6). Fully fenced yard. Fire pit. Pet-friendly. 10–15 minutes from New River Gorge National Park in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
This is a private, whole-home rental — no shared spaces, no other guests on the property. You have the entire house, the full yard, and everything in it from check-in to checkout.

Your gorge basecamp.

You pull in, unload, and the fully fenced yard is already waiting. The fire pit's out back. The kitchen's stocked. ACE is ten minutes away, the bridge is fifteen, and you don't have to think about anything else until tomorrow. Day one is easy. Let it be easy.

THE HOME

Three bedrooms, four beds — enough for everyone to have their own space and close the door. This home is ideal for groups of 4–6 and can accommodate up to 8 for groups comfortable sharing one bathroom. The layout works well — the space just works best when it's not at full capacity.

Bedroom 1 (Primary): Queen bed, blackout curtains — the room you want after a full day on the river.

Bedroom 2: Two queen beds, great natural light — right for two couples or a family that doesn't share well.

Bedroom 3: Queen bed, its own corner of the house.
Beds are made up with fresh linens before every stay.

THE BATH

One spacious, renovated full bath — clean, well-lit, and stocked with fresh towels and essentials for every stay.

THE KITCHEN

Fully equipped for real meals — not just coffee and takeout. Drip coffee maker, French press, ground coffee ready to go, full set of cookware, bakeware, dishes, glasses, and utensils. Enough counter space for a group to cook together. Start the day with breakfast before heading to the gorge; come back and grill dinner in the yard.

THE LIVING SPACE

Open-concept living and dining — the layout that works for groups and families. Smart TV with streaming, fast WiFi, books, and board games for slower evenings after a full day outdoors.

THE OUTDOOR SPACE

The fully fenced yard is the centrepiece of this property. String lights on the deck. Fire pit in the yard. Charcoal grill. Outdoor seating. The fence makes this one of the most practical outdoor spaces in the area for families with children and guests travelling with dogs — contained, safe, and ready to use from the moment you arrive.

Most groups find their way outside within an hour of arriving and stay longer than they planned — and honestly, I get it. There's something about this yard at night with the fire going and no particular reason to go back inside.

If it's just the two of you — fire lit, no agenda, the gorge fifteen minutes away tomorrow — this is the version of the trip you'll want to come back for.

TRAVELING WITH DOGS

Dogs are welcome here — but I require prior approval before you book, so please message me first before completing your reservation. Pet fee is $50 per dog per night, max 2 dogs (this transaction is billed separately once your reservation has been confirmed; it is not included in your booking total). A dog bowl, a water bowl, and pet blankets are ready when you arrive.

The yard is fully fenced, with one section that runs a little lower than the rest — most dogs are completely fine with it, but if yours is a jumper or under 15 lbs, plan on supervised yard time rather than leaving them out unsupervised. Not sure if your dog qualifies? Just message me — we'll figure it out.

Where you are.

10 min → ACE Adventure Resort (whitewater rafting, zip lines, climbing, waterpark)
10 min → Downtown Fayetteville, WV (Pies & Pints, Cathedral Café, Court Street)
15 min → Canyon Rim Visitor Centre & the New River Gorge Bridge
12 min → Long Point Trailhead (best bridge views in the national park)
35 min → Summersville Lake (swimming, kayaking, scuba)
30 min → Winterplace Ski Resort
6 min → Grants Supermarket · 12 min → Kroger

You're ten minutes from the gorge and six minutes from a grocery store. That combination is rarer than it sounds.
Before you arrive.

Message me. I'll send you a cut of the local guide tailored to how your group likes to trip — hikes by difficulty, restaurants by vibe, and the spots that don't show up on any list. The full guide is mounted in the kitchen when you get there.

Check the calendar and pick your weekend. It fills faster than you'd think.

PARKING

Free parking on premises. Max number of cars is 4. Driveway parking, no street parking available.

GOOD TO KNOW

A signed rental agreement and photo ID upload are required from all guests prior to check-in. Full details in the house rules. It's a quick process and I'll walk you through it after booking.
